AI Block damage
I've been having some issues with how quickly the Zs are breaking through my walls. I have the AI block damage set to 25%, the blocks in question were concrete, and the building was inside my land claim.

The first time it was a single Z, don't remember what type, but it was one of the standard ones. Tore through 2 concrete outer walls, two wooden counter tops and a third concrete inner wall in no time.

the second time is was a small wandering hoard and they made two door sized holes in the concrete walls in the time it took me to look in two storage chests for quick drop off and to look in my own inventory to see what i still had to deposit at base. There were a couple army Zs, a biker, and a big skelly in that group, so I thought maybe they just hit harder, but I still wouldn't think that they would chew through concrete that fast.

the really weird one was the single block missing out of the concrete wall 5 or 6 blocks up. there were no spitters.

Ive run some tests with the standard Zs on simple wooden door barricades and they are only doing 2 damage to that per hit... not sure why they are wrecking my building so badly and so quickly. Anyone else experience this or have any thoughts?

That's definitely 'bug' behavior. I've used those same settings and never had Z's tear through even on Blood Moon.....unless I stand in same spot so they all keep pounding the same point in the wall all night. That's crazy bugged. Maybe try removing your land claim block and setting a new one would break the bug. Worth a try.....land claim blocks are cheap to make now.

Do you have mods installed or possibly any old remnants of uninstalled mods? I usually only lose a few concrete blocks on high level blood moons with 24 zombies...

Also, there are two AI block damage settings IIRC: one for blood moons only and one that applies at other times, so check that you have them both set.

No mods, I play vanilla, but I will double check the settings

ya at 25% and land claim concrete should last a good while

the only other thing to consider is more zombies at the same spot get a bonus multiplier (i heard)

also i heard things like post get a negative multiplier to them because they are smaller so are weaker.

land claim has no effect at all on zombie block damage.

it only effects damage by other players.

This is exactly why zombies that can pound on concrete or steel all day and take down buildings is dumb.

And this is exactly why you go into items.xml and take away their bomb-pumped grasers.

And this is exactly why this game has lost its way in some respects: its default settings cater to a noisy minority bunch of players that the devs play whack-a-mole with instead of letting casual players experience an otherwise lovely sandbox world and do common sense things that don't get counter-cheesed by progressively super "zombie" intelligence.

But I digress... probably a bug. Maybe one of the zombies has a typo in its block damage multiplier - see if you can see which one it is.
