Create Stacks
I would like to be able to create stacks again. The amount of ammunition I am collecting is causing storage problems, I don't want to have multiple chests just dedicated to 7.62 ammo, I would rather be able to combine them into stacks. I don't know why this was taken away, I would like to see a return of this ability please.

You'll never use all that ammo anyway it will just keep accumulating faster than you can use it. It seems weird just leaving stacks of 7.62 in loot, but after a certain point there's no reason to even keep it. At best, you can just scrap it and make AP out of it.

I'm not sure what difficulty you play on but I burn through a ton of ammo on Survivalist and Insane. I really don't have excess amounts like that unless I try to conserve ammo.

I guess I do have some excess for the ammo types that I don't use but I don't really care about what happens with that. I'll sell it or forge it.

Edit: I have a spawning mod so my situation is maybe a little irrelevant.

Best thing to do is just smelt the ammo down in a forge for brass.

You can also just scrap it in your inventory or a workbench for a loss of brass.

They should consider some way of allowing you to box ammo. You CAN craft the boxes with the perk books anyways...

We'll probably never see that QOL because of "inventory slot balancing" (then why give us 8-10 stacks of 7.62/9mm per T6 mission?)

I try to have a one bullet kill, I don't spray. Just the way I like to do it, cheers.

Yes, been scrapping it, seems like such a waste though. At least the 9mm gets used up by the turrets.:steamhappy:

Yes you used to be able to create stacks from piles of just about anything, I know you can create new stacks but even then, 5 bundles per pile for 7.62? at least make it 10 FP.
It would be nice to get the full resources back, Imagine IRL only getting some brass back? Cheers.

I don't recall that being in vanilla. You can craft boxes of ammo, but the only boxing up of loose ammo I recall is from mods. There are some current mods on nexus or 7daystodiemods that do this. I made my own mod to box up all the common ammo you find in loot, and added an option to scrap those boxes to return all the components, not just brass.

I remember it, it was either a few alpha's back or yes it may have been a mod, I think it was vanilla though. It was a good ability. I am interested in your mod if you update it.

I just sell the stuff. Brass drops in insane amounts, so I never really need more as I end up selling raw brass too. There's always more use for dukes.

It's up to date, but I haven't published it anywhere, just for my use. Maybe I'll do that sometime though. Nexus does have some mods though, or if you're just interested in boxing up the loose ammo you can easily add that to the game.

To box up 9mm you can just add this recipe and then you'll have two crafting items in your menu, one for the normal craft from bullets, cases, gun powder and one that requires 100 rounds and a piece of paper. Do the same for the other ammo types you want to box up.

<recipe name="ammoBundle9mmBulletBall" count="1" craft_time="5">
<ingredient name="ammo9mmBulletBall" count="100"/>
<ingredient name="resourcePaper" count="1"/>
</recipe

I think you can craft stacks of things, but it requires reading several magazines.

Yes its called you already beat the game and youre probably only a few in-game weeks in.

Sorry? But yeah point of the game is to struggle to survive bla bla bla well, sounds like your struggle is over.

The problem isnt the inability to stack ammo, the problem is the devs gave you too much ammo and too little to use it on outside of bloodmoons.
