Best way to get fresh water?

i'm at the start of day 5 struggling because of the lack of murkey waters I can find. is there a container i can fill and then boil to make fresh water? Whats the best way to get fresh water?

Create a Dew Collector(s) at your base. i'll take some time but you'll get water you can boil periodically. add mods to make it run faster and more efficient.

Building 2 or 3 dew collectors will give you enough water when you're solo. It's probably easier to build several dew collectors than it is to find upgrades for them in the early game. Once you know what's needed for the dew collector you can usually get one set up within the first day or so.

You can usually buy water or murky water from the trader and from vending machines if you aren't able to find enough, but unless you lowered the loot settings you really should be able to come out of each POI with at least a few jars of murky water.

Loot toilets, kitchens, coffee makers, and water coolers. They all give water often. Also as mentioned above, the dew collectors. Find, buy, or make a cooking pot to boil it.
Once you get the hang of it, water is a non issue.

Cooking pot in a campfire is how you make murky into clean water. Pots can be found in residential POI's semi-regularly, or you can buy one from a trader, as said above.
