oh great. is there any casino tho or is that coming soon TM also?
The duke's note has been in our inventory for ages upon starting a game. Still no Duke...but hey, it's 1.0! it's not early access anymore!
There are traders with a shop that is presumably frequented by other humans. White river, Crazy jake (or whatever his name was that had the old paper quests), whoever buys stuff out of the vending machines...Still no human NPCs other than the traders...but hey, it's 1.0! it's not early access anymore!
Instead, we've had our level/crafting system go through FOUR completely standalone iterations. Acceptable systems successfully used in other survival crafters (original crafting grid with parts and quality, Learn by doing, everything-is-based-on-level, and now magazines), but scrapped and reinvented over and over.
We've had COUNTLESS "graphics overhauls" of the exact same assets over and over. The game does look better i suppose...but it's a 13 year old game, no one is buying it on looks now. We care how it plays (and the computer requirements have increased DRAMATICALLY over the years).
Plenty of other systems introduced to great delight, and then quietly removed (remember procedural cave generation?!? That was amazing!)
All the stuff that's been teased would push towards SO MUCH DEEPER of a game than it is now. Imagine keeping NPCs safe on horde night, or deciding to trade with or kill and loot some human passersby, or fighting your way to the Duke henchman by henchman, Deadpool-style.
I own the game already, and it's somewhat entertaining. From a pure gameplay perspective, it serves to keep one amused for an hour or so at a time, before the lack of depth sinks in. And since I already own it, I still play it time to time, but man...I have a bigger laundry list of complaints and disappointments for this game over its development than really any other game in my library. It really is an enigma...managing to be fun, yet so, so disappointing at the same time.
You can go into POIs any manner you wish but you will get some weird spawns and often see things spawn in right in front of you if you aren't sticking to the prepared pathway. But the POIs are voxel so feel free to chop through however you want. You should still be able to hit any NPCs though.
Knowing tfps timeline and how slow they are as they keep redoing and ruining game systems that are fine, don't expect it to 2030.
So basically its never going to happen? lol
So the bandits will be 4 different bandits with recolors? like a blue shirt and a green shirt one? ooooo
