Main menu takes a long time to load

I would suggest you open the 7DTD launcher located in the game folder, and click the Reset to default settings or something like that, then click the Save & Run button.

Also make sure mods are removed from both game folder and C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Mods folder.

Never had mods, game can take 5 minutes to load to main menu.

Runs fine once loaded on higher settings.

Been playing on and off since 2nd update when the game first came out.

I've not seen it take much longer than it did in a21.2, the main culprit is that stupid news screen you have to click to continue on and the fact there is no way to disable that stupid thing. That news screen takes way to long to load for what it is. Really needs to be a option in the options to disable it entirely.

Only takes mine less than 20 seconds O_o. My system is also mid end at best: ryzen 7-3700x, 16 gb ram, geforce RTX 3060 ti. Game like my OS and other programs is on a 500gb SSD. while my storage drive is a good old mechanical HDD.

Yeah, it's probably about drives and a ram.

im running about 15 mods and my game boots up to the menu in about 15 -30 sec max and another 20 -30 sec to boot into game o.0 and im running this game on a old rig i5-4690K with 16gb ram and a rtx 2080ti but all my games are on there own SSD

No - I can go from desktop to the map in about a minute, minute half. It's just currently installed on some basic, cheap no-name SSD too.

It may be the not on SSD is the problem, I have it on a good but large Hard drive, my SSD is mainly for Windows only on my rig.

Loading blocks, particles, etc in seconds, then it stops on a screen with the 7dtd logo and a nickname bottom left, nothing else is there. Then it takes 2-3 minutes to show the "news" screen with the Continue bar. After that it's all fine.

No idea.

Verifiying files = no help.

I have a 12 year old potatoe rig but it takes only seconds (5 or less) to load into main menu. No mods installed.
