I'd go for a 6k or 8k with normal difficulty (Adventurer I think). You can always quit out and tweak up or down if you feel you need to. If you're playing with people not very good at contributing to supplies, turn your loot level up a little bit :)

I chose nomad (100% dmg for both zombies and players) and 7K but it's too long distances to travel, next time I won't do it bigger than 6K. Maybe even less. Even with a gyro takes like 5 mins to get to wasteland quests and I don't wanna live in wasteland.

it kind of depends. you can get away with smaller maps if you turn on chunk resetting. But larger maps you can leave that off to have a more permanent effect on the world.

I say for 4 people at least a 8k world so larger towns and cities will spawn.

For difficulty really depends on your skill. If your going to always team up set it higher to give you a challange. If your going to mostly do your own thing keep it at default. But you can easily change all the diff settings any time you load up the world so its less of an issue to change then your map.

go big or go home.. eventually yall will wrench and loot all the cars, nests, trash, and such that vanishes after looting... 10k baby youll never loot it all but its worth it.. also if ya on pc go line.. makes life tons easier

Depends on what you want to go for in terms of length of play, If you guys wanna go the distance then yeah you want a big map. But you'll get bored around 70-100 days.

I think 6K is big enough for 4 players if you do like individual missions or teams of 1-2, then do larger POIs as a group. Same with difficulty, Adventurer is okay but you can really tweak the difficulty if you or others in your group so desire.

Just avoid increasing XP gain until mid to mid-late game. You'll gain XP pretty fast on the standard setting, but if you go 300% you will quickly get into higher difficulty with game-stage. Around mid-game I increase XP to 125% because eventually it feels like a plateau.

Changing game difficulty automatically resets all trader quests back to level 1... so you should start on warrior if familiar with FPS type games. If you want crazy fun start with survivalist and see who lasts the longest.

Since when? I just reset difficulty to check this out and my trader levels didn't change.
