NPC Raiders?
Did they finally get added in? I ask this after every update since I have liked the idea ever since I first heard them mention adding them in. That and most of the time I have a game breaking error that prevents me from starting up the game.

Yes, i realize i could go looking through god knows how many patch notes for the answer, but I find it far simpler to just ask here and now.

Otherwise I am glad to finally notch this one off the will it ever release list, and go back to waiting for a star citizen release instead.

No. Supposedly By Q2 2025. So under 11 months away. Supposedly.

Nope. Current road map has them "sometime mid 2025".
But we all know how reliable that is.
They have been announced since 2017 as " 100% in the next Alpha release guys!"
so i wont hold my breath of them ever being added.
If they appear someday i take it as a nice surprise.

When/if they show up, I'm sure there will be plenty of "I'm dissatisfied" posts then as well.
Pretty sure that they will never implement them. Just like project zomboid, they said that they would be added forever ago. PZ actually has modders adding human NPCs before the actual devs lol.
Just seems to be the way with these sort of games. They spend decades in development, add a handful of actual improvements a year (!f that. With a lot of light switch flicking back and forth) and then stay quiet while modders show that they are more competent than the devs.

I echo this sentiment only because the missing kickstarter things are suddenly being called "stretch goals" :buzzed: . Never were before but SUDDENLY they are arbitrarily stretch goals. How convenient from The Fun Clowns

When you take 430 x $50 thats $21,000 from 430 people who paid for a map and they never got one. You take all of the backing funds totaling 500k, thats 500 grand from people who believed they could "play as a zombie" and "watch the leaderboards of the wasteland" and " bandit NPCs".

Game went 1.0 and theres no bandits
What is the leaderboard of the wasteland?
Play as a zombie literally is being sold, not given, but sold as a different game on the same platform.

High. Sea. Thievery. Someones already gone after their shady practices internally, wonder when someone external will too.

"we will do our best to fulfill the goals". Yeah you probably should do that, you stole money then partied for 7 years before realizing "whoops better finish that stale garbage"

I don't know why this continues to be an issue. TFP stated they were implementing bandits when the story was more fleshed out. Inference suggests that bandits in 7d2d are part of a story arc, and putting bandits in before all the requirements are in place would be problematic to game play.

My money is still with TFP, I have seen second party modded npc's in videos and I am not even close to being impressed.

Sometimes, it's a good thing to actually do enough reading about an issue before spouting off an opinion. I get that patience is not always easily found. I get that it does seem like a long time in coming and perhaps it will fail. But no one can know that.

They said they would implement bandits in the 2014 Kickstarter if they got $500,000 in funding. They got $507,000. The modded NPC's are fine considering they were done for free, imagine what a professional game studio could do with the profits from selling 18 million copies, plus another game based on the IP, on top of the Kickstarter funding.

Maybe you're new to where this game originally came from before steam. As for the mods, they actually have a base for the NPCs, TFP seemingly haven't had anything for a decade on the matter.

Those npcs from mods are so dumb though. Plus so buggy. Why do you think most mods never included the npc mod into their mods....

The modders have something, and the devs don't This being a feature that has been promised since early development. More than likely will have working NPCs before the actual devs even lift a finger.
Then again the modders also have to rely on the game being somewhat in a stable state (as they will have to keep on updating them after every little change that TFP make when they decide to flip more light switches on and off) which it will never be, at least not within the devs lifetimes.

7d2d isn't my raison d'être. I played the first iteration and hated it.

I don't worship at the feet of modders, but I get they offer variations lacking in base game.

I will always side with TFP and their direction until there is some evidence of malfeasance.

You mean their hundreds or directions.

Just a heads up here, I am tired of all the annoying bickering just to bicker, so if this gets me banned, so be it.

fold it five ways, and put it where the moon don't shine.
