Killed to what exact bugs? Your HP went to negative or you starved to death?
No living Human can force you to play this game. If you don't like it, play a different game.
I can't imagine playing this for the first time on max difficulty with daily blood moons, zombies moving at max speed 24/7 and feral senses on 100% of the time. Even worse if you shut off air drops, drop loot density to minimum, shut off loot respawn...
Best way to play the first time is to leave most of the settings alone, or all of them. Put in 3 or 4 game days, minimum, then decide what you like and don't like and tweak accordingly. You can change almost everything after you start a game except for the map itself so you don't have to start fresh.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's pretty much Minecraft, but with more Zombies. Build, explore, loot, craft, collect.
There was supposed to be a storyline released in the past, and it's on their "roadmap", however, I wouldn't expect it based on their inability to keep true to past release goals. And while I'd like to see it, I have to acknowledge that I still sunk in hundreds of hours and had fun without one being there.
Yep, and about half way through development the game was closer to being complete than it is now... too many re-works, overhauls, and re-starts.
There is no actual point to the game? Well, that ain't exactly true. Stand still and do nothin' and you'll see what I mean.
No plot or storyline? Well, that ain't true neither. It ain't spinnin' no hand holdin' step-by-step tale but there's a story there if you bother to pay attention and use yer eyes.
