Average response to people who point out how actually terrible the bird mechanics are.
The hornets at least were goofy and left honey for you once you killed them. But the vultures are just bullies that nobody needs.
Just one edit away, replace all vultures inside the spawning text file and tada.
Roof vulchers have really never been the problem. (For me.) They were originally well placed, terrifying at times to deal with. Made dealing with ledges and large open roofs tense at times when surrounded by zeds.
But that they homing missile in while traveling in a vehicle, where they would otherwise ignore you, even outside of bloodmoon, is dumb.
I also see why it could be an annoyance for anyone that enjoyed playing chase on horde night instead of building a base. It's not my personal playstyle, but maybe making it optional would have been better.
That's 'Birdist', man.
They do need to add a new flying zombie something to game maybe less frequent or in wasteland only, I mean something that seems strong and fast enough to do all the crap the vultures are able to do.
Also I wish Pimps would add just one anique zombie to each biome
Oh, bring a drone when you fly. Sometimes it can bump the drone behind you, causing yet another delay as you further the distance between you and the dumb fowl.
EDIT: .... Learn how to fly. If you can't beat them, join them.
You ever tried that during a high level horde?
It has something I have been meaning to test, but never got around to it, since I never use the Gyro.
I'm afraid you would have to define a "high level horde". My comment is about just regular bird avoidance on the copter.
The reason the copter can outrun the bird is mostly the delay the bird has when repositioning itself behind me for an attack. With a turbo mod on the copter and without using turbo boost the speed is 17 m/s. Every few seconds the bird stops and positions itself and that takes about half a second, equates to about 8 m/s speed advantage, and the bird can only see for 70 meters, and after about 8 to 10 seconds the bird lost track of me and slows down to search my last position and I'm way out beyond it's detection at that point.
A land vehicle would probably need a drag strip of flat terrain or something that's about 200 meters long and straight to get away or play "ring-around-a-building" for a few moments to confound the darn thing then make a run for it.
EDIT: ... I think the 4x4 should be excluded from bird attacks simply because the player is technically inside and hidden when compared to the other vehicles.
EDIT: ... Correction, vulture sight range is 70 not 30. So, 8 to 10 seconds before it loses sight of me.
