Yucca Smoothie
The coffee adds a 5 cold resistance, the yucca smoothie adds 30. logically yucca smoothie should add heat resistance.

Yeah, seen those arguments. Yet a cup of cocoa when I am chilled will warm me up. A cold soda on a hot day will cool me off. A large bowl of ice cream when it's cool and I'll start to shiver.

It's because the Yucca fruit is spicy. So, even though it's a chilled drink, the spicy heats you up. That's just the logic everyone needs to figure I guess cuz.....why else? lol

yeah, under very specific circumstances a warm drink might help you cool down faster. definitely a hard argument against the common sense of a cool drink cooling you down.

TFP's problem here is how the game is coded, they've got one type of elemental resistance that works both ways, they can't have the smoothie only provide heat resistance. on the one hand it's simpler to implement on a first pass. much like the clothes, they'll iterate this stuff eventually.

Well, I don't know about post-apocalyptic yucca but real life yucca fruit has a mild sweet taste, no spiciness. And the game recipe is yucca, blueberries and snow.

Anyway, I liked how it was in older alphas where you could make yucca juice to hydrate and cool down when in the desert, and coffee to keep you warm in the snow biome.

This reminds me of when someone complained about the "realism" of long garments like a leather duster helping to keep you cool. I explained the science behind how body length garments worn by desert dwelling peoples actually do keep them cool. There's a reason desert dwelling people wear long full body robes, not shorts and a t-shirt.

OP
IIRC the values for that drink come from an old (A10??) drink involving snowberries.

I take cold showers in the winters and it warms me up for hours.

Oh, I totally agree. I'm just saying maybe that's what we have to pretend now.....to let it slide with our logic pallette, lol.
