With the rad remover mod, they're perfectly ok like any other high hp zed. Without the mod, you'll be wasting way too many ammo to be able to cope on T4-6 missions in end game.
On the other hand if I decide to use my fancy t5 auto shotgun, it hits like a wet fart because I've got no points invested in it, only half of the perk magazines, and 3 strength. It doesn't matter what mods I load it with, I don't have the bonuses to support that weapon so the performance is going to be bad. I still use it sometimes, mainly to get rid of ammo.
And if you turn up the difficulty at all, zombies get a whole lot more tanky. It takes a while to mentally adjust, but harder fights can be fun.
what was your point?
Even rad bikers only take 4 headshots on insane (just tested on about 10 rad bikers before posting this, it can be less if you roll the decap percent, or more if you are off on 1 shot, but 4 is a tested average). And before complaining that's too much, remember I was testing on insane, and that's one of the toughest zombies in the game. The lower difficulties will be much easier. And other enemies like normal lumberjacks go down in 1 shot, and ferals in two.
And this. It's only a couple of HP / sec. (haven't checked exact number in 1.0). So it's not like they regen to full in between trigger pulls. :) It takes them a full minute or so to recoup from a shotgun headshot last I checked.
clearing out T5 and T6 on insane is no problem if you know how to use the turrets well.
It's surprising how much people who have played this game know of this and the armor mods. I boggles the mind.
Mod in the meaning of weapon-mod, the items you find in game and install on your weapons.
Not mod in the meaning of game-modification, that alters mechanics.
For context sake I just killed an irradiated zombie on insane on a playthrough on day 4 with a tier 1 pipe machine gun and regular bullets with no investment in the machineguns skill at all.
If I can do that you can absolutely wreck them with proper perks, AP ammo, and a real gun.
Also I mean you turn the difficulty up and then complain about it being hard is definitely a decision.
