I gave up hope completely on new zombies when the devs basically finished the giant mutated zombie Behemoth, then they bailed on it..
But a good imagination on your part.
I've always wanted to see a commander or mastermind zombie that changes the behavior of other nearby zombies during a blood moon. Send them into area attack mode or something, anything to make them behave in a less predictable way. Take out the commander and they go back to the path of least resistance AI.
I also feel like all zombies should grab, or at least have the ability to grab, rather than just slapping us.
Generally speaking I think the zombies in this game are just outright not much of a threat and it's due to their movement speed. Unless they can at least sprint they can't really catch you and then it doesn't matter what their HP and damage is they aren't a threat.
The game is sorely lacking zombies that can limit your mobility. Something like the smoker from left 4 dead that can reel you in, a zombie that spits webs that stop you from moving or slow you down, a zombie that spits gunk that glues you to surfaces, something that can counter player mobility.
It would also be nice if there was a charger type zombie that could move extremely fast but can't turn well so it could at least outrun you and force you to stop and deal with it giving the other's a chance to catch you.
Long story short we need some zombies you can't beat by simply backpedaling.
Jamaine: Daze on hit. Chance to loot items from you. Outrun you. Special procchance: Bycicle. Usual spawns: Backyards or 24/7 shops.
smart zombie: only walks around aimlessly looking at her hands. dangerous to motorbikes.
lawyer zombie: loose all your money if it gets within speaking range, even if you ignore it.
clown zombie: sneaks into little girls birthday parties, is actually a president
doctor zombie: will poison you and then try to sell you a pop n pills lifetime plus membership
teacher zombie: same as before the apocalypse, except less annoying, retains ability to cause a permanent state of mental derangement
toilet inspector zombie: the main character, often heard muttering about "my bottles"
given the devs mentality to counter player metas itll be :
the roof hoper : zombie which can climb vertical walls without needing a ladder.
I would be really happy if games didn't limit to zombies and just started adding other horrible abominations to the game.
The Demolisher is cool, I'd love to have have 5-6 other big powerful freaks like that guy.
The new dire wolf is a step in the right direction, lots of hit points and lots of damage given.
Would love to see an infectious type zombie that made an area highly toxic for several game days, that would include a player's base.
