Add light armor skill?
Right now there is no light armor skill, only heavy under strength and medium under agility. personally i think there should be a light armor skill under agility with medium moved to fortitude. Since this would cause fortitude to have more skills than what would fit under it without expanding the menu or adding a scroll bar, maybe move Rule 1 Cardio to Agility? (I don't know why it isn't there to begin with.)

I know that light armor has no movement penalty so it doesn't seem like there would be a point to having a light armor skill, but, as an idea, the perks for light armor could increase movement speed slightly for every tier as long as you wear light armor and nothing heavier (or maybe if you wear nothing at all). A reason i believe light armor skill should increase movement speed is because the heavy armor and medium armor perks reduce their movement speed penalties, which means that for every medium armor perk you get, medium armor gets closer and closer to being as fast as light armor, but with more protection, making light armor less useful beyond its armor bonuses and stealth abilities.

Another good reason to have a light armor skill is because medium and heavy armor perks give increased armor magazine chance, which means if you are a light armor user you will have to perk into armor you don't even wear just to get more armor magazines for your light armor. Otherwise your light armor quality will not increase as fast as a medium or heavy armor user.

All of the armors are tied together though. ie: when you level up that skill to T3, all of the armors go up to T3.

One point into either heavy or medium armors will also benefit light because of this.

Armor skills don't affect the rate of armor book acquisition in 1.0. The points in your attributes do. You know Strength, Perception, Fortitude, Intelligence, and Agility. The ONLY things the armor skills do is increase defense, lower stamina usage, etc. Again OP they have nothing to do with getting books in 1.0. You will find the same number of armor books with 0 armor skills as you do with armor skills.
+1 for the light armor perk, makes absolutely sense to have one for each type of armor.

right now i dont see much of a reason to wear light armor over medium (ignoring individual buffs from clothing)

Medium armor is actually pretty OP in the end when running around with 75% damage mitigation and 20% increased speed from the commando (boots) set. And, having no mobility reduction on top of that.

I'm saying that to say: I can definitely see an argument for a light armor perk.

Oh, my bad. I just thought that since getting ,say, handgun perks means getting more handgun books in loot, getting medium/heavy armor perks means more armor books in loot. But still, light armor should have a perk.

Yeah, it used to but not anymore. I am on the fence if light armor really gets much from perks unless they made it do something more. Increasing the armor rating of a padded bra is still a padded bra. Punch me in the boobs and its gonna hurt about the same with or without extra padding on my bra.
