IMO, on the contrary, V1.0 have stopped pushing the OP trader path playstyle by making it nearly equal to other paths like looting and crafting. The game is back to valid different ways to play without feeling like gimping ourselves by not heavily relying on traders.
They've cut clothing for the moment (we'll see were they going with the outfit DLC later) and went for quality over quantity for the character customisation choices indeed. Some may dislike that, but I prefer quality.
Yeah, not sure what's up with desert/burnt forest heat issues. Ran around a day in each with unmodded long clothing, and no heat warnings. Ranger suit has a cowboy hat, and the bonuses are western flavored.
Plus lack of a transmog system makes me pretty apathetic to how my char looks. Now I just go for stats which I'm not keen on.
