Harvest Honey Challenge is BS

I've literally cut down over 30 trees and I am at 1/5 honey. What the heck?

Supposedly that equals 5% chance, no clue. RNG is RNG and you're having a very bad run of luck.

I also assume you meant "tree stumps" - but if you have that one magazine read already, perhaps the challenge wants stumps, not trees? Who knows.

Its tree stumps not trees you can track all of the challenges which will put marker on the stuff you need.

Yes, it must be stumps, and iirc with a stone axe specifically. Trees dont drop honey w/o the wasteland treasures book or whichever it was, and wouldn't count anyway.

And yeah, RNG gonna RNG. It's a challenge, a task to complete over time- No need to rush it.

Yes, it must be stumps, and iirc with a stone axe specifically. Trees dont drop honey w/o the wasteland treasures book or whichever it was, and wouldn't count anyway.

^ Stone axe is indeed pretty specific. I hope it says that in the challenge description, lol.
Not saying it does not say it, I haven't looked - just that it should. Heh.

It does tell you to do the step but I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so it didn't click in my brain. However, somehow it's on "harvest jar of honey 1/5" even though I'm not holding the stone axe. Maybe a glitch?

I'd guess it's counting a honey you already found in the start of the game when whacking a stump with your lvl 1 stone axe, or something like that.

The challenges count up all of that stuff as you go, not in any progress order. I've had ones high up on the challenge "list" proc/finish when I wasn't even trying to do them, because of that.

It's because it doesn't go back to step 1 after completing step 1. So you equipped a stone axe and collected 1 honey likely early on as CatPerson said, And now that step 2 is in progress that's all that is shown.

I tried the "pipes" challenge and that one also doesn't seem to advance. Using a wrench, although it's level 3. Maybe it wants it to be level 1? dunno

The challenges are "tricky" because they usually require a very specific tool/weapon, sometimes one you don't normally use. I found a hunting knife early on and thought I was set. Couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting the harvest animals challenge since I had carved up a small zoo. Realized the challenge is only valid when using a bone knife.

The pipes quest to complete stone axe on sinks works.

I just chop up stumps early on and racked up my honey that way. Since I needed the wood I really didn't think about it or focus on it. I used a level 1 stone axe to get the job done and collect wood. Just don't think about it and chop up each stump you find. Remember a watched pot never boils.

It just stopped working for me. Stuck at 2/5. Yes, I'm using a stone axe. Yes, I'm chopping stumps.

I think that one isn't too unreasonable. But the harvest 50 silver nuggets, 50 gold nuggets and 50 diamonds? That's a lot of digging.
