They are now in order, meaning, Rekt in the forest will give you the trade route quest that leads to Jen in the Burned Forest, Jen will give you the trade route quest that leads to Bob in the desert and so on.
If you go to the wrong trader thats not meant to give you the next trade route quest it wont show up in the options even if you filled up the points for the current quest tier.
There are no Bobs on the map. Open prefabs.xml in the Pregen04kA world folder and you'll find no "trader_bob".
If I wasn't so annoyed I'd check all the other premade worlds. If they are going to force a specific progression on the player, it seems like their world generation should check to see that all the traders are represented.
Agreed. If there's no Bob, it looks like a pregen they should fix before V1.0 stable.
Whether the pregen maps are useless is beside the point. Those pregens are just RWG maps that tfp included. If they can have missing traders then your "selfmade maps" could be lacking as well.
I checked all the pregen maps. Only 2 are broken, but it's a broken that should not occur if they have any sanity checks in their RWG.
Pregen04kA is missing Trader Bob.
Pregen04kD is missing Trader Joel.
And at the end of the day, It's not like it breaks the game, at least atm.. It just means you gotta go *gasp* explore a bit.
It kinda does break the game a bit. It prevents me from completing the new trader challenge side quest. I'd consider that broken. The big question is. can they fix this without me having to restart my world and losing all my progress?
F1 (to enter console)
Type: dm (to enter debug mode)
Press F6 (to enter Spawn Menu)
Select Trader you are missing from the menu.
Not sure if it was changed but this worked in the past.
I agree. No, it doesn't render the save unplayable, but it does break the intended gameplay. And new players, which I'm sure "1.0" has brought in, are not going to easily know what to do. And what if that missing trader was Rekt? Or worse, Jen, and the only trader experience they have is Rekt?
Perhaps coding for successfully including all the traders on 4K is difficult, but checking for a failure condition is not.
What I really hope tfp will do is add a new settng to RWG. An option where you can toggle between "Story Mode" with their on rails progression, and a "Sandbox" option that brings back the random to RWG.
That might work. If I get around to it that's what I'll try. Easiest would be to edit prefabs.xml in the world folder and change one of those trader_hugh to trader_bob. Best would be one in an area you haven't been to yet.
What Prince Persona suggested will work for the Meet trader bob challenge, but the spawned trader will not persist so can't use him for missions etc.
So, that worked. I edited prefabs.xml and changed one of the trader_hughs to trader_bob. I went back to Jen and now she had an opening trade route mission for me. Went to Bob (formerly known as Hugh) and got the Meet trader Bob completion message. So, that is a way to fix it.
Same ♥♥♥♥ happened to me, no Bob or even Joel on my 4k world random gen. Great logic Fun Pimps, couldnt even code it right to require a bare minimum of 1 of each trader for biomes. I get 3 Trader Rekts out of my 5 on the map lmao.
