It's supposed to be balanced enough vs looting that you could do one, or the other, or both, So that you don't feel that by skipping out on the trader you're artificially handicapping yourself.
Trader was insanely incredibly overpowered before and that made it the defacto choice, and it made many feel like they MUST use the trader, like that is the only way the game is meant to be played- And it's not.
I didn´t even play 1.0 yet but slow down of progression is good.
Explore, build, harvest, kill zombies, craft. You'll have so much xp and good loot you'll not know what to do with it. Quest are okay but I get way more just playing the game rather than grinding one aspect.
I was making a point that the progression could be way too fast doing quests and that a trader nerf was badly needed.
But progression was insanely fast before, it needed to be slowed. Not even just from traders, though they were the worst offenders.
And you do that on the steam forums? Yeah, no. Pretty much no developer, no matter wich game, reads the steam forums, only the small ones do sometimes. Offical forums is the place to post that.
I honestly don't see the fun in reaching end game gear, and having no challenges and nothing left to find so quickly.
