Is there a way to remove those invisible trigger lines that kill stealth?
As you all know, some time ago they have decided to put in trigger points that wake up zombies (or maybe even spawn some) when you cross a certain line or enter a certain location.

I have found that this has come to the point where a stealth approach to the game has become pointless. Unfortunately, that is my favourite (and only) approach to the game.
But there is no point in using stealth when you know in advance that no matter what you do, at a certain point they will come swarming just because you have crossed some invisible line.
It doesn't matter anymore how you play, the gameplay will always be the same, like some FPS with scripted trigger points.. but if I wanted to play an FPS, then there are far better games to choose from.

So the question is, is there a way to remove those trigger points? I know there is no simple option for that, but maybe a mod? Or some of the new armor sets?

Or will they disappear once you have put enough points in stealth like From the shadows or Hidden strike? I have tried those but they didn´t seem to affect it, never maxed them out fully though.

Any thoughts appreciated..

5/5 From the Shadows (65% stealth), Assassin Chest (20% stealth), Assassin Boots (100% noise reduction), Magazine for 5% night time stealth, Assassin set to instantly lose aggro if you get out of line of sight (I have not tested it properly, I only tried it with a zombie that was on another side of a car and I instantly lost aggro of it). Also another magazine makes thrash on the ground not causing any noise when you step on it.

With these things your stealth gets really strong, I went around in tier 4 POI and killed most enemies with knife without them noticing me. I have not tried enough in areas where they force trigger but might work well in quite many situations with assassin set losing aggro.
Knife works fine to fight the zombies that trigger in the POI I have tried, I haven't tried tier 5 POI yet. It has high damage and I think it does a 20% slow+dot for 50 seconds after you hit someone.

none of this does anything to stop the voxel triggers that OP is talking about.

to further clarify: there are invisible blocks just after path points in POIs that automatically trigger the zeds in the next area.

there is NOTHING that will stop this.

Try all of this plus before you go into a room or area that you know has a trigger, shoot the lights out or as many as you can. Do it at night not in the daytime. Plus sometimes even when you wake them up if you stay crouched they just run up to you but don't attack. They'll lose sight of you or they never found where you were to begin with - you just woke them up.

i think you arent getting what is being asked here.

OP is asking if there is any way to disable the triggers.

the answer is a plain "no"

avoiding the triggers and shooting zeds before entering the new area is NOT disabling the triggers, and stealth isn't factored into the trigger whatsoever.

edit: the only thing i can think of that could possibly disable the triggers is if you went into the prefab editor and removed them one by one, if that's even possible.

and even then, that would be way too much work for a player to do.

Thanks for the answers.. it's all interesting ideas. But I'm afraid that Shaken_Window is correct, none of it really disables the triggers. It's also more like high-level endgame options, what about the long way getting there?

Plus, when I play 7D, I want to immerse myself in a zombie apocalypse, not think about how to cheese some game mechanics.

So the truth then is, 7D is a shooter now. And since it is 1.0 now, that is not going to change back.

I guess they are done with the "give me an apocalypse to survive" players, and are now aiming for the "give me something dumb to shoot" audience.

There is ALWAYS a way...

The question is how much TIME and RESEARCH are you willing to spend?

You would likely have to edit each POI individually and remove the trigger mechanisms per instance. This would be time consuming and tedious but eventually that would give you the desired result. Essentially you would be creating your own mod for the game.

Now you just need to figure out if you're willing to learn the process and spend that amount of time for your objective.

If you look at some of the overhaul mods out there like Undead Legacy, Afterlife, Darkness Falls etc, they have committed many more multiples of time to achieve their goals to change the game into the vision that they had.

So YES there is a way. But most will not want to commit that amount of time to make it happen.
