they dont. The console version previously released was handled by Telltale Games and Iron Galaxy, and billed as "complete" as a console port. PC version far surpassed the console version, and the newest one (the version everyone is griping about) is for next gen consoles and will run parallel to PC.
Got it. Thanks for the reply.
Its not last minute. This has been going on for literal years now. There is NO way to update the older console version. The code is vastly different, and it's against Sony and MS regulation for an update to invalidate the saves. In short: The original console version is finished. Its "complete" for what it is.
This has been known since TFP got the rights back (yes, to their own game) and the next gen versions were announced. And the buzz of a possible discount for existing console owners has been brought up and discussed for just as long.
What they were doing was cashing in on hype, and that's not okay. Yes with research one can learn the history and why it's impossible, but it's not exactly common knowledge. If they delisted it long before the 1.0 announcement, or at least posted with a bold warning that it is indeed a unsupported game, I wouldn't complain about paying again. But those that purchased the original game should absolutely get the next port. Payed the same price on PC and never had to pay again, why the hell should console.
That said, and I know it's old news-- but in order to save someone from having to search for "the video" at a later date like I did...

Would have also helped if others weren't jerks about it and just said "No, PC players won't have to buy the game again, just the console players."
Thank you. Bec wow. lol
