There is no situation where, when you die, you're permanently locked out of that 5gs/ls you lost. You just need to stay alive for a matching number of days it took you to die that first time; In your example, a 20hr save w/ 1hr days, that'd be 20 days.
Further, Player level alone will eventually get you to the max game and loot stage and keep it locked there even if you die.
I do the same but for a different reason. I just think playing death means death is more fun and actually adds a bit of jeapardy. I also like the Zombies to walk not run, Romero/walking dead style. It would be too easy if there were no consequences. And losing everything and starting again is a pretty big consequence.
^^
mods does a TON. look forward to the workshop, its community and game is already the smoothest ive ever seen for modding and adding them, when workshop is enabled i bet you even your grandma could figure out how to add them ;D
not at all if you want to play that way. a lot of us veterans play hardcore 1 death and thats it gameplay. like shurenai said though a death will not interfere with gamestage. that tops off at 300 i believe which 100 deaths wont change, just delay reaching.
also congrats on lasting 20hours before a death. even on baby settings that isnt easy with the way pois work and zombies that pop in.
respawning in this game is broken. death has literally no noteworthy consequences. and its pretty easy even on insane past the first 2 weeks to stay alive and never die to anything. this isnt a hard game at all at its base principle its really simple.
there is some challenge and danger requireing more careful play at high difficulty with perma death but if you can just bulldoze everything with no risk involved a game becomes boring really really quickly to me personally. i never play such games for long.
so i like that you can actually make the game challengeing but keep it fair for the most part.
Turn feral sense on to always :)
I've deleted 100+ hour saves because of a single death.
Years ago I did a perma-death run, and haven't been able to go back to a multi-death play-style.
