Play now or wait until 1.0?
I have been gone for many years and noticed the hype train.

Play now or wait?

Generally depends how long is left till 1.0 since the devs wont give us an exact release or allow us to try it early.... your progress wont carry on over so I'd say wait

Streamer weekend is scheduled for the 21'st, and we get it the 24'th assuming nothing game-breaking happens.

And despite the rumors, TFP have been letting us try it early for 10 years now. Hence the term Early Access.

Why wait? It's not an either - or thing; there are options. The test branch will be released on June 24th. The 1.0 release is slated for July 24th, so if you don't want to play in the new test branch, you can start a game now and play until late July.

Actually, you don't have to start over then, either. You can keep playing Alpha 21 as long as you want, then go over to the new release when you're ready. You can even keep a version of Alpha 21 on your computer to keep playing, and install the new version to try it out. There are tutorials on how to install multiple game versions. Have fun.

Test branch will be released June 25th not 24 from what I saw in a dev video. End of July 25th is stable release or maybe August depending on delays. I would say wait.

Forget about the trains. If you think you *might have fun*, then fcking play it.

If this=/=fun , change the diffliculty settings or whatevertheballs have you to suit.

If still no fun. Find something else to play. :)

I would say play it now to get up to speed with the current stuff. Then the 1.0 wont be half as jarring to you, and it will feel like two game releases at once. :cozybethesda:

despite the rumours.... clearly nitpicking ain't we?, you know I meant 1.0 at least have the brain cells to not deter from the actual meaning

Not to mention all of us helped fund the 10 year development

Yeah conflating updates coming out a bit earlier than posted with, the game being an EA game is pretty wild lol. Early access does not...remotely...mean updates coming out a few days sooner LOL

Will the Romanian language be introduced?

i say play now to remind yourself how to play it. remind yourself of the little things that are really important. like looting the 3 main plants all over the place. they make rags which is needed to make tape. mineral water which is the best drink in the game that gives 60% hydration.

If you don't mind restarting all over again and grind out your base, skills, and book findings then I say play it until the release.

But with the road map of functions being added, I would take a good guess that you'll have to restart regardless in 1.0 when those functions gets added in. So if you don't like the repeat grind, then wait until 2026 when everything should be added in.

Wait until the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finished, which it wont be on "release". No sense in anyone buying this game until they are actually at the end of their road map.

Don't think he was talking about a repurchase...

You can buy it whenever you feel like.
It's a really fun game with friends, but I will warn you.
I'd recommend waiting to make a long term world, as there is a chance with 1.0, you may have to make a new world due to the changes.
So either wait, or just get it and don't get too attached to your world in case of this.
It's still a fun game and I'd recommend it either way.
I've been playing since about 2016 or 2017 I think, I'd have to check my PS4 install date.

Still stands regardless. If you're wondering whether or not now is the time to come back, and you're willing to wait, then waiting for the finished product is more worth the time. Speaking for myself, 1.0 isn't an incentive to come back. I'm waiting for the full, promised features to come out - if ever.
