How do you join a friends coop world?
Both my friend and I have tried to set up our own private worlds, but each time neither of us can find the others world in the server browser. If I make a world, I can get into it, but then he can't find it for him to join in. What are we doing wrong?

You can't play Co-Op/Multiplayer unless you rent a server or join one.
Once you do that, get the IP of the Host, give the info to your friend..Profit. :)

Not entirely true, its possible to host your own world from within the game, you just need to ensure you have the ports open and set it to public (with a password), not private.

Your friend should be able to join you via the steam friends list (right click on friend, select join game).

If that still doesn't work, you will need to open the required ports (25000-25003 iirc).

If you're trying to host dedicated, I'm not sure, haven't looked into it yet.

That actually worked. Thank you. I can invite him to my world, but he gets booted once I leave. But its better than nothing.

It's why I posted what I did above. Figured you wanted to keep the world "going". But as Nuke said...yeah. :)

Im having a similar problem but its just taking a long time to join and when i try to all it says is Connecting to server (then their name)

Make sure they havent got it set to a singleplayer world, one of my friends tried booting up a server and had it set to that and after a while connecting it would only say "allowed 1"

Its not that it just never stops saying connecting to server

We have no issues. I "host" the server (i.e I just start the game), and mates just join me through Steam friends list (Join Game option) once I spawn into the world. We haven't had to do anything else special.

Make sure your game type is set to 'MP Survival" and that the Max Players setting is sufficient for all your friends. We even have the game set Private (with no password). Works fine. No port forwarding, no IP addresses or any of that complicated stuff.

Not true. See above.
