Many things you can do;
1. Build underground till they cant sense you
2. Build very high up till they cant sense you
3. Drink alcohol and run away until dawn
4. Play a creative mode game
5. Turn down difficulty
6. Start the night in a fake base and run to your real base, none should follow except the ferals
7. Does logging out still work?????
Out of all those, you should probably just play creative mode if you are most interested in building rather than the survival aspects of the game.
tried the underground thing nope they GPS right to you. ive been on 3rd/4th floor buildings nope. tried to run but seem to follow you till the ends of the earth with their high tech GPS. creative no thanks i like the survival but not the bs that is GPS zombies. i dont mind normal hordes passing threw. diffs at normal i think around there somewhere. logging out saddly was "patched" which is bs in my opinion.
i enjoyed the game when all i had to worry about was zombies walking around and a horde passing by here and there and if they caught me in the middle of something it wasnt a big deal fighting them. these GPS hordes from the first 7 day one i saw had around 50 plus zombies a mix of like 10 dogs, 5+ cops, and endless normal ones and of course its night so they get in your face and the what seems like a 80% chance to get "stunned" makes it so you die. respawn die respawn die. because they just "know" where you respawn.
i loved this game because it was the best zombie surviavl game around. it made the main focus the zombies than human players. but having to deal with these GPS hordes is just ruining it for me. ive commented and metioned a few times about making this an optional thing which im sure would be easy to do. and sounds like a win win to me those that want them have them those that want more of a fun survival experience with out them can.
if you mean they can find you everywhere then turn off (Feral)
yes feral aka GPS because every living person seems to have a tracker planted in their ass. and you cant turn them off i wish.
yep gonna get one to pull a chariot for me
i beg to differ on this "tower defence" status this game seems to have got. its a survival game. tower defence implys stratagy and multiple ways to fight off waves. while the only standing strat i have seen is surround your base with wooden spikes and thats it. tower defence also implys towers which there is none. its a survival game thats it.
I go out to the desert which is easiest to clear of obstacles. I make a big open area free of crap to get hung up on. I place torches and spikes. Use what ever pattern works for you.
I made a big X and have the torches spaced out to illuminate the general area. Maybe I use 40 torches and 75 sets of spikes. I run out to the arena and wait for the 7 day spawns when I see where they are coming from I move to the opposite side of my spike area.. I just keep moving around it shooting and clubbing. I have only gotten to the third or fourth hoard spawn, I guess they just keep getting bigger.
Afterwards I return to my regular activities. I have not suffered more than a battered door while I am away from my bases. By bases I mean the few cabins scattered about that I keep the odd chest at. I keep my spawn bag away from my primary bases (the ones w / forges).
Setting up the killing field takes maybe an hour. That is mostly clearing. Placing the torches and spikes takes maybe 5 -10 of that.
Repairing gets done half an hour before the next spawn. Personal preference on stims and other drugs.
i myself an not experianced enough to show you which one to modify but im sure if you tried the modding forums someone will gladly show you which line to edit.
as for hordes in general, wandering hordes and 7th day hordes are targeted AT your general location, if they do not SEE you or SMELL you, they will just walk on by. (Its the ferals that lock onto you)
if you know a wandering horde is on its way by looking at the console, turning off forges/campfires will also stop them becoming attracted by noise.
hope this helps.
In my case, the challenge is still there considering I only have one life (no respawning) and there are more things than zombies that can kill you (temperature, hunger, thirst, accidental damage...)
7 day hordes are a major part of the game.
There are ways to deal with them and learning how is much of the challenge, you are going to need to be able to deal with them in order to play this game normally.
So I'd suggest you ask questions on how to deal with them or make better bases, and try to solve your ACTUAL problem, vs just removing everything in the game that challenges you.
The game would be far too easy if there were no 7 day hordes. I play at insane difficulty with 50% loot and 50 day loot respawn and after the first week or two the ONLY challenge left is the 7 day horde.
I kill hordes and view hiding or running from them to be an exploit. To kill a 35+ day horde you need a solid fort with tons of spikes umderneath and lots of ammo. Gathering the resources and building this is the major activity of the game.
The 7 day horde is a test of your defenses and yes it can take me a day or two to repair and rebuild the damage. After that I am gathering resources and building expansions to my fort to get ready for the next horde which will be bigger.
There is never enough time to do everything and therein lies the challenge.
