This is kind of like how we can gather materials/build/craft at a higher speed then humanly possible. Carry huge amounts of materials, being able to instanlty learing new things from just reading a book. It is ment to speed the game up some and add a element of danger to forging/cooking/gathering.
If you go on some of the MP servers...you can magically teleport home every 5mins.
Also you can use your magical power to turn zombies into zCoins so you can trivialize the survival aspect and just buy supplies at anytime by summoning a magical, invisible shopkeeper...in case you broke your leg at the bottom of a cave and need a crutch....because who needs planning ahead and survival skills in a survival game?
I don't know either, but OPs quote reminded me of that scene in 'Scary Movie 2' where the father uses the bathroom LOL!
And, of course, let's not forget about the other side. What's a game without choices?
"Necromancer" class that can summon and controll a certain number of zombies then have your own horde fight the opposing horde.
Then, for endgame, you will confront the master necromancer, who is the reason for all the zombies being summoned into our world, in an epic boss fight. Oh, and let's throw in some king of a castle and a captive princess to save in there too.

No real point. I play on warrior with delete everything on - if I die then I delete the save and start a new game.
It is the cheapest way to add difficulty to the game so that annoys me.
I was just using sarcasm and humor to vent my frustration at the 30 near death experiences I had in a 3 hour play session do to zombies warping behind me.
Don't get me wrong I love the game but the new "magic" system makes for too much tension with my own hardcore house rules.
