Some changes are good, some bad...but if they just keep going and keep updating, cool. There'll be things I like, things I dont, no game is perfect, but overall, its a great game.
Labor of love? Could be. They're definitely committed to it and do it their way which again, is fine with me.
Can't wait for new things/eyecandy/special FX/content in the game ;)
It's alive !!,
They're still at it after 10 years, and without any money grabbing scheme ? Ofc they deserve the labor of love nomination. Would be even better if there was a "leisurely labor of love" award tho.
.....Award denied.
They love it sooooo much they don't want to let it go :D
Hell of a wait..........
Edit - Sept 2014
They feed it with new content but also reinvent the wheel over and over to the point where the game feels overdone in one section and outdated in many others.
It's like watching a developerteam argueing about the best direction but nobody has any idea about what should be and instead what could be something they like to see, only to threw it all away in the next update.
I would rather invest some time to look what people like in the current game and what they wish for in the future. I would learn to write better code for that particular genre and look into performance issues and bugs and where they came from (like memory leaks).
All this plus the vision of the devs and put it on a wall. Argueing about it, what must be the best direction and keep it this way.
Then i would start fresh with a new version of the game. New engine, maybe another programmer on board and finaly finish a game you made ^^.
