Stop adding so much content, start optimizing.
The game is really good, there is enough content for countless hours of gameplay and fun, but this game is too damn laggy and I just can't play it anymore, I'm not sure how the development is going but I really love this game, I just wish it had a better optimization because it really doesn't even make sense to be this laggy. My PC isn't the best but its also not terrible. Please, start optimization, this game is great! Please, please please!!!

A small tip about playing this game on "not the best" PC
Set texture quality to Half if you lag and stutter a lot.

It helped me greatly on my "not so great" PC ^^
But yea some optimization happening eventually would be really appreciated.

Right, forget about finishing the game.... ♥♥♥♥ the story, the NPCs, and everything else still mising. This guy's computer cannot handle the game so cancel everything.

I've read a lot of people stating this game has not enough content... :lunar2019deadpanpig:
So, which one is it?

I don't know how old the PC is but I would check out the threads on optimization because there was some really useful tips. Especially the one about clearing out old files before installing or updating.

It shouldn't be unplayable unless your hardware is really old, I wouldn't think.

It's not bad at all. Unless you're on a modded server with admins adding zombies on horde night, the FPS is very smooth (200+)

If possible and within capability of hardware, have you tried to configure your ram. I switched to a slightly higher mhz then the default was set. Afterwards this game and any other game with some stutter cleaned up real nice. The cost is slightly more power consumption. As in overclock, refer to bios settings if you can. AI in proximity stopped with the small freezing stops and the frames in turn are a lot more smooth. Headroom increase I guess, may or may not show substantial difference though.

Keep the content coming! I love every alpha update. it keeps the game fresh. if you dont like the changes one can stay on an older version

Some Tips here:

I highly advise the boot.cfg changes, you will see these all on by default in a lot of unity games to help with performance. This game doesn't for some reason.

AMD Fluid Motion Frames adds frame generation at the driver level for 6xxx Series cards and up. Makes a crazy difference on horde nights with loads of zombies, tested on a bunch of systems. Pretty much doubles your FPS, it's meant to add input lag but it's not noticeable unless you're getting really low FPS.

The source code for the FSR 3 FG has been released now also, just needs to be implemented into the game for everyone to use it on pretty much any GPU.

Hopefully it's added for everyone , it's a completely new experience cranking so many more zombies into the game and having it run at like 150-200 FPS with everything maxed out during a blood moon or in the city

Just a note for this. You would need to manually get the experimental driver, as it is not slated to go public until next year.

Waiting for Unity to fully implement FSR. It's only partially done currently, but the devs are looking forward to adding it.

I will just say everyone has a diff opinion on what the word content is as i see content as quest lines or mini boses things like that while others a toothbrush is content see what im saying so for me answer is not enough content

you thinking they will optimize anything :steamhappy:
LeftPaw Dec 19, 2023 @ 10:12pm
Haha, the game is massively optimised compared to how it was way back.
