Lack of Tires and Acid

Ok. I know this has been posted before; I've even created an old thread on it for a previous build. But here we are, Alpha 21, a new game, and I can't find tires or acid to build them for the life of me. Just a crap ton of books. Suppose I had the option of making acid out of something; great! But I don't see that option. Gas Stations have tires, and hospitals and or clinics have acid. But on this run, no dice.

And this isn't a gripe or complaint, mind you. I'm asking my fellow 7D2D mates if I'm missing something. Thank you in advance.

Acid can be found (rarely) in kitchen sinks and theres some way at some level to smash a medicine cabinet for a chance to get acid but Im not sure of the details on when and how, never tried it myself. Hopefully someone knows and will reply here.

Check house garages, parking garages and gas stations for tires.

It's a perk book that enables harvesting acid from cars, some barrels, and chemistry sets, part of the Wasteland Treasures series. They've been trying for a while now to push back vehicle crafting, so this experience with a new game is intended. You're more likely to earn the money to buy a bike or scooter from the merchant before you're able to start building them yourself.

Yeah I'm starting to see this - you either get the gun you want or can buy it long before you can craft it. The problem I've seen with acid is getting the 5 you need for the chemistry station.

I appreciate the responses. Like most here, I've played since it came out and have loved watching it grow. I know they'll fix or balance things eventually, but wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I'll keep looking.

Tire are not that hard to get. You usually just have to wrench a few cars here and there. Barring that, looting Pass & Gas boxes.

I don't think i ever gotten a tire from dismantling cars. Even with salvage operations.

From car trunk loot yes i found these. Not from dismantling tho.

Is that really a thing?

Yes. Usually it needs to be from a vehicle where the tires/wheels are actually visible/not missing in order to have a chance of salvaging some.

I am wrong. You can't get wheels by salvaging.

I've dismantled over a hundred vehicles with tires visible and never received tires from them. And that's with salvage skill maxed.
