Other than that, if you don't like .44 weapons then don't use them. Melt the ammo for brass and craft bullets for weapons you like instead.
Any way to get gunpowder out of them? I have like 10 stacks of brass that I don't even use currently, but no gunpowder.
I'll try to run through with the deagle I just don't see the appeal maybe I'm trash lol.
As for collecting excess ammo yeah this game throws it at the player like candy :P i get way more ammo from loot than i am spending. Even using guns only doesn't help.
I just ended up ignoring ammo in loot and not pick any up untill the 6 extra large crates full of loot ammo i have in my base get emptied.
Lmao I'm not there yet but I have almost 1 full crate of half magnum, half pistol. I just ran like 3 speed missions, brought 600 rounds for magnum, by the end I left with 550 only barely a dent in the idk 20-40 stacks I have lol. Money has no use in game either so selling pointless.
Unfortunately there's no way to actually "pull bullets" out of their casings like in RL to get the gunpowder, bullet, & the casings and reuse them. I think there are mods with custom workstations that would recover all the materials like this, but that's up for you to try or not.
I'm typically burning through all the ammo I accumulate from quests during blood moons so I don't usually run into this issue tbh. Although, it's true the 44 does have some limited usage compared to 9mm or 7.62mm since there is no full-auto capability with the two weapons. A character with a sniper rifle and "dead eye" maxed build is going to do more with 7.62mm AP ammo than 44mag AP ammo, while the 9mm (at the normal FMJ) can be useful with SMG turrets for whatever application you want to use them for, just base protection or clearing blood moon hordes.
If a late-stage gun isn't incredible damage-per-second output, it needs some kind of special ability to separate it from the pack. And I'm not counting those gun perks/book perks because those are okay, but they arent outstanding.
.44's are cool but not ideal for a lot of tough situations.
.44 ammo stacking up over time is definitely a relatable issue, and a bit of a conundrum. I don't think there's anything else in the sphere of gunplay that really uses it, is there? What could they add to resolve the issue?
