when im playing for a few hours it REALLY starts to make me angry. the same few low quality "spooky" sounds AGAIN AND AGAIN. let me turn off this madness.

no - i dont want to fiddle with any game files, i want a checkbox that says "Turn off annoying sounds"

... Does your wife make scary sounds at night? Mine just sleeps.

To the original poster: You can post this as a pimp dream on the official forum.

I've been asking for this for years! The Dev's must feel these sounds make the game more "scary". But in reality, they just become annoying. Lose em' or allow us to turn them off.

I stopped playing over those sounds. Games like this live and die off their ambience and those sounds effects don't put me on edge, it makes me want to find that 8 year old who is following me around and keeps pressing buttons on his halloween themed sound board and take his batteries away.

I'm pretty sure you can disable it. I know I did because I also didn't appreciate it.

Edit: Just checked. You can turn down the slider for ambient sound volume in the audio settings.

Yes, and now you can't hear things like rain and wind also.

That's the thing. The sounds are intertwined. Grow up Fun Pimps. The game is not that scary to begin with. Your lame ass sounds don't make it any more frightening.

Those sounds are indeed incredibly annoying.

They get old on day one and I can't believe they still haven't added a way to shut them off. I don't want any music and I don't want those musical "stings" coming from nowhere. If there was an in game source for the sound, then sure, but there isn't so I don't want to hear magical music.

I am still playing A19, but I have read they did not fix the auger and chainsaw sound either.
Seems they sacked the sound engineer long ago.

I doubt they ever had a sound designer.

That's what confuses me. This game isn't scary at all.

What you dont like pretending there is a cult of weirdos chanting outside your base at night? maybe its the fun pimps themselves doing a ritual.

Having been a husband (twice) I learned to tune out annoying sounds early on. But the swats to the back of my head still get my attention.

I'm surprised a modder hasn't tackled this. Not that I think its an easy task or anything.
