Only vultures tied to a POI attack you if your at full hp. Unless its a bloodmoon or you've been inside a truck/motorcycle/etc.
player injured. Part of a horde. part of a poi. While trying to escape on vehicles. These are the attack conditions I'm aware of. Were you riding anywhere when they decided to attack?
Was out in the open on my way to do a quest when they decided to start attacking which only time i have known them to do that was when i was on a minibike in the burnt biome.
Unlike this time where i was in forest biome and was travelling by foot which is why i believe they seem to be bugged in some scenarios.
Fair enough. I can only speak from personal experience, but in that instance it does sound flaky. Might be the behavior was changed to a random chance of attack regardless.
Yep i agree although i could not confirm this was the case as i have not seen anything in any patch notes stating their behaviour has changed. Only happened once so i am keeping a close eye on it to see if it does happen again at some stage.
Getting stuck on random objects while trying to dodge them is a huge problem for me - theres no easy way to tell where they in flight around your head and they're pretty much silent.
I noticed a similar circling vulture the other day, it was early game. I think I just left it alone, didn't follow me or anything.
I use a knife or a pistol depending on circumstances and game stage. If I have to hit it more than once. I want it on fire or bleeding out.
I'll use the torch early game for fire damage - it's a slow weapon with unpredictable results, but it never degrades and provides an attack interruption.
