Infection means death in the early stage
because,
- its not sure whether the traders sell us Antibiotic Medicine usually
- its not sure whether they gives it as the reward of the quests
- its just luck whether we can loot it somewhere
- of course impossible to craft it coz it demands too many skill points and rare mats
- Herbal Antibiotics ? u say "go to the snow land and caves for the mats while exhausting by that infection ?

at least the traders should sell Antibiotic Medicine always.

Sounds like you has unfortunate RNG. In my latest A19 game, I found 2 honey's from tree stumps on my way to the trader for the starting quest on morning of day 1. Chopping a few tree stumps should probably be a day 1 priority.

Oh, and since you didn't mention it in your list, you know that honey from tree stumps cures 5% infection, right?

Infection may well be a death sentence in the early stages.......So why are you putting yourself in situations where you're at risk of infection that early?

Before you get some kind of antibiotic (Honey, Herbal antibiotics, or antibiotics), Do not engage in melee combat with zombies. If you must engage, Only take swings you know for certain you'll hit and that won't put you at risk.

Also get armor ASAP- Padded armor at the very least, it's crafted with cloth and duct tape.

Traders always selling antibiotics is a cop out. It's too easy to get dukes, Either it's then expensive enough that you can't just easily buy it in which case having the trader sell it doesn't help the early game, Or it completely trivializes ever getting infected since you have a guaranteed source of antibiotics.

It's a survival game....Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, The cards just aren't in your favor, And you will die..And that's okay.

eh? getting infected early on is actually part of the risk-fun early game, because later on after getting tons of counter items, infections are no longer threatening.

honey in tree stubs are your best bet to cure it early on, so smash those whenever you find them.

also, don't treat this as a hack and slash game or you will get infected for sure.

Honey is usually easy obtainable on the day you spawn in a new world. As said ANY armour decreases the chance on infection by a ton. Using a spear early on helps as well as you have good range on normal attacks.
Taking 1 point in brawling and punching a zombie on the noggin once, prevents him from infecting you as well ;)
I start out with both, I throw the spear to stagger a zed, then with my empty hand just punch it once or twice. No more infections ;)

Sounds like my game before last, (B180 Expermintal) and I spent the first few days hunting stumps, treading water so to speak with my infection at 10-15%.

It's not fun, but it is doable if you prioritize.

Just chop tree stumps and get honey. It is very easily to survive actually.

i've been getting so much honey that I can afford to go away from base for over a day and just have to carry extra ammo and water, the tree stumps are almost enough to survive on for food. Oh and I play on 75% loot.

I HATE early game infection honestly, and I do know honey drops from tree stumps as well but I Rarely get it, maybe 1 in 5 tree stumps have it for me? Anyway, does anyone actually know the drop chance of honey from tree stumps? I remember I got super unlucky in A18 and the first time I got hit, I also got infected. Glad they changed that in A19

Why do you need more than one? The point is to not get hit. I have gone 20 or 30 game days without getting hit. Maybe be more careful.

It's not like I'm playing recklessly, sometimes RNG can be a B****. I might only get hit one or no times in medium sized POI's. And yeah I know the point isn't to get hit but its not like we can do that 100% of the time, i'm not a dodging god, ya know. Plus it's entirely RNG, you might get an infection on the second hit of your entire game, or you might not get infected even though you've been 50 times.

If you are getting hit in POI's, why not make holes in the wall before you go in to hit zombies with an arrow and then kill them with a spear before they break through the wall. You can use wood frames by jumping on them to access the second story.

Each time ya die, your game stage drops, and it will take longer to get an upgrade to the loot table.
