Because the game supports giving you thousands of rounds to use at your choosing. Because the game enables infinite ammo crafting via infinite unmitigated resource nodes that appear in every biome. Because the people making the game seem to have no desire to make ammunition more scarce nor difficult to obtain.
So I could flip the question. Why DONT you go through that much ammo? Is watching the zombies go through a maze of traps and fall into a pit more fun for you? Do you just prefer melee? You never get bored of aiming for the head every single time like a robot repeating its programmed actions? You must have tons of ammo lying around right? Are you saving that so that when your playthrough comes to a natural end, you can tuck your ammo into your .DAT file on your harddrive and put it to sleep like a coddled wee one? Whats the point of that... use it or lose it.
The people who prefer to shoot their infinite ammo would prefer larger stacks. It doesn't need to be debated, it's a playstyle the game WILLINGLY supports.
I can use the sniper and just shoot zombies in the head every horde night. One round per zed or two depending on their armor status. Sometimes three. Thats fun for a few horde nights. Then some nights I just say screw aiming and rat-tat-tat-tat with the MG. Because its fun. and Because the game ENABLES me to have 3 gun safes worth of 762 by the third week. So - we'd like those ammo to stack a little better. Not so crazy.
Some people build tiny houses in the game. They'd only need a building block stack size of 50. But guess what, its 500. You can stack 500 blocks. Thats nice, it supports people who want to build bigger houses, because the game enables that. Now, play that same two sentences over but apply it to ammunition.
That being said, TFP doesn't really read the requests and suggestions we post here and I doubt they would care even if they did regardless of how much it makes sense.
If you want them to actually have any chance of seeing your request, go post it on their official forums. Asking for something like this on the steam forums is pointless other than for discussion purposes with other players.
We have 2 solutions: do nothing while waiting TFP to implement a request they haven't even seen, or fix it ourselves with a mod or xml edit.
Whats your opinion on AP ammo(762) - is it worth the cost?
Childish and rather assuming.
That can't be an argument, if you struggle with the challenges of the difficulty you selected the solution isn't to get the devs to make it easier, but to play on settings were the challenges don't bother you - or mod it/change the value yourself...
But regarding your problem, I think thats exactly what boxes (placeable and the munition stack box items) are for. And you can tell the devs do not want you to go without opening an inventory for millions of shots because otherwhise there would not be durability...
Pretty sure the game is working as intended...
I have a hard time connecting difficulty/interesting challenge to annoyance over stacksize.
The issue isnt even ONLY about stacksize in inventory for hordenights, its just as much about the daily logistics when sorting boxes etc
HOLD MY AUTOMATICS ;)
