I guess the gist of it is: if you're focusing on a spears build, for example, then you'll find more "Spear Hunter" books in the loot table.
Once you've finished finding the complete set, then those books will be much lower (or maybe completely removed?) on the loot tables since you've already found the whole set, which should allow higher odds to find other books you're trying to find for other skills.
Back to OP's concern, yes, we'll be reading A LOT of magazines/books + mod recipes compared to A20.
My first loot when I loaded in-game on a nearby garbage pile? Found a gun magazine extension recipe! xD
Magazines shouldn't be quite as common.
Edit: Managed to unlock Iron Spears quality 1 at 21:40... yeah that def needs to be scaled back.
Knives are insanely overpowered at the moment with the slow/bleed stacks you can get even 10 minutes into the game.
Find magazines is very meh, like I need so many of them that the individual finds don't "hit" super hard. I don't think it's a bad system, but it's definitely...different.
Its still fun and the other improvements are good but I wish they'd actually realise most of the playerbase are not, actually, 10 year old boys looking for CODCraft
I think they do it so that it will become evident if the people like the new thing or not.
After a while they tone it down to normal levels, once they know how it's working.
So you don't think 1897 skill magazines is too much? I do.
I've noticed a similar pattern, I do think 1897 magazines is a tad overkill.
U pointed that it is magazine reading simulator, which definetly isnt :D, and like Nipheon said it takes second, one "A" press and its done, I think i collected almost 200 hunders of them and it didnt slowed me at all nor bothered me anyhow, just press A and continue, same like in previous alpha with books, so there is 1897 of them and what? it is not like that u will read them at once.
It is kinda same like scraping some items, sometimes i just loot everything and then i open inventory to see what to scrap, so i click on bunch of useless items and press S to scrap them or throw away so if u dont read those mags right away you click on them and A. Nothing new, we all already do this, so reading mags isnt nothing special or time consuming.
