Utility off-Hand
I would like to see the Devs add off-hand functionality. I should be able to equip a torch or flashlight in my left hand and still use a weapon/tool in my right? IMO it makes no sense that we have 2 hands but are limited to having a single, functional hand for tool or weapon use.

agreed. this should be the advantage of using 1 hand weapon, cause right now sledge is god tier melee

Torch, flashlight, knife or other 1-handed weapon on the off-hand might be a nice touch.
Then there would/should be another skilltree or just some perks that make it stronger or just viable in general.

Hey now, hold your llamas! We're still working on doors, windows, and water, we don't have time for a 2nd hand, are you insane?

Wouldn't be a bad idea but honestly I don't personally feel any need for dual-wielding in 7dtd. Cool? Yes. More important than other updates? Probably not, in my opinion at least.

Either way TFP is a roulette wheel, so who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us with dual-wielding when we least expect it... it'd be kinda funny if we got that before Bandits XD

I'm not looking for dual-wielding as in double-weapons (although that would be cool). When I grab a sledgehammer or aim a rifle, the graphics are changed to reflect that my left hand is involved. They could just alter the left hand graphics to display a held torch/flashlight and adjust the lighting as appropriate. I'm sure they'd say that the helmet light eliminates the need, but there must be other ways to use a feature like this.

...or a shield! It could add a flat armor rating and they could scale them from leather/hide to wood, to iron and finally steel.

You guys don't get it. When using one handed weapon, our character has his bag hanging on his one shoulder and so constantly holds the strap with his other hand. When using two-handed weapons he just wears his bag on both shoulders.

It's impossible to weild two weapons at once.

Food. Would love to slay zombies with my right hand machete while taking bites out of an apple or sammich in my left hand.

Sorry VR, but I'm thinking it's you that doesn't get it. It's more likely that the character is wearing a backpack; not carrying a sack. Backpacks have 2 shoulder straps so you don't have to use a hand to keep it on. If what you are suggesting were true, then your character could not use a baseball bat, sledgehammer, rifle or shotgun. Gotta keep a hand on that strap...
Even if the sack were true, in a RL combat situation - you would drop the bag to free up a hand for a weapon. People have been dual-wielding weapons for centuries (Miyamoto Musashi comes to mind).
That's not what I'm suggesting tho; just using the hand for utility-purposes.

op, that would be a great idea. would love to clear pois with a torch or flashlight and club early game. would add some variety instead of b lining the helmet mod every game
