I think I'm doing something wrong. I am level 20 on day 12 and I have found 1 mechanical part and no wrench. Is there new way to get mechanical parts now?

Put perk points into salvage operations. Then grind for the books like the fun pimps demand. eventually you'll be able to make a wrench. After that you can go bust up shopping carts cars etc. also you can scrap engines if you somehow get one of those without a wrench.

Are you doing trader jobs? My first wrench came from a tier 2 trader job reward. Before that I had found a few parts in trash bags, and various places. And as mentioned above, skill into things you want to find more of.

Once you have a wrench, mechanical parts come from pretty much the same things they did in A20.

I find them mostly in the trash or cars. just ran stupidly all the streets along in a point i coulndt find them too. till now i didnt found a wrench itself or got one from a trader. after two days running arround and loot trash and cars i've got mine on day 18

Don't go for main loot only. Loot everthing as The Pimps intended and you'll get mechanical parts as rare random loot. Save a few early on (don't remember whether a quality 1 wrench needs 5 or 10 parts) for when you found enough magazines enabling you to make the wrench. Day 12 is definitely late.
