Minor helpful tip while on a vehicle to view your surroundings.
Left click once to toggle your camera to free 360' view mode and left click again to return it back to follow/steer mode.

I've been aware of this for years but it occurred to me that there's no way for new players to know about this. I looked for the information in the Journal but wasn't able to find it.

This can be particularly useful to scan your immediate surroundings while in open areas to search for resources like birds nests, trash piles etc. Especially when you're moving more slowly on the bicycle to allow your stamina to recharge. Or if something is chasing you and you want to look backwards but also want to continue going in a straight line forward.

Just pointing out that left click, in vehicle mode, is the "switch steering mode" function. It's in the keybind menu under vehicle tab.

Good call Jimmy.

When you first hop on the bicycle they should probably add that to the Journal entry as I'd imagine that most newer players wouldn't be aware of this feature unless they just happened to see it in the keybinding menu or wondered what the heck was going on when they left clicked and suddenly their controls changed while driving.

I assume the tutorial disinterest on the devs part is because most players prefer to use YouTube, discord, steam discussions, etc. to learn the game. I always felt this is because when you get to play, one does not want to do a tutorial.

i always held down the RNB when looking around while driving. That lets you look around but keeps the vehicle going straight.

Depends how the tutorial is done. Some games give you the basics when you start and slowly add more stuff as you progress. That way its way easier to learn to play the game without being overwhelmed by too much info.
