Trader Joel fell into the ground
Um, maybe someone has faced such a problem. I failed a level 5 quest, and when I returned to the merchant the next day, he was not there and his mark was below the second floor where he usually sits. And the most terrible thing. He sometimes appears in his old place literally for one frame. Somebody help. Restarting the game did not give anything

go into DM mode ( debug menu )

go into god mode ( Q key ) so you can fly to where you can see him.

when looking at him , hold the E key to bring up the options wheel and select the X option to remove.

this will remove the trader. now leave the area and go do something, this will reset the chunk and put the trader back to correct position.

Hope this helps.

And that, dear Fun Pimps, is why you needed the "chunk reset" option.

Not to reset the rest of the world, but to fix issues like this, but instead, not only did you make it an insane 10 days minimum, but now with the latest update you removed the Traders chunk reset by excluding them from this function, so people have to manually reset the chunk of the trader.

My question to the Fun Pimps is, can you even do anything?

Anyways to the OP:

You have to go to your savegame folder and reset the chunk manually by deleting the chunk file but that's not all that easy as you need to know the chunk identifier that the base is in. It's easy once you know how to, but complicated to figure out the first time.

Thanks for the answer, but how to determine which chunk is needed?

I thought traders were immune from chunk resets in the newest version to prevent people's rented vending machines from being wiped.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you very much it helped, I didn't know that merchants have a delete function.

No, it's obviously to personally persecute you.

They are but you can delete the chunk file, which causes it to be reloaded from the pregen file itself, meaning the whole chunk will completely reset, no matter what. If the chunk file is deleted and regenerated from the default info, all is reset.

The delete trader function, didnt know about that, but this could easily be solved if TFP weren't so bad at designing, decisionmaking and reworking things.

In my current game Joel has phased into the floor. But it's OK because I can talk to the top of his head, which is all I can see from the other side of the counter. Maybe he got tired of standing for 18 hours a day and is sitting on a cushion :)
My merchant was half in the basement on the first floor. He was probably just trying to update the range, but his butt got stuck in the hatch a bit.
