So yes, if the POI is bigger then the safe zone, zombies can and will spawn in the rest of the building.
But yeah, just stops sleeper z's from coming back within the defined zone. Doesn't halt general world spawns, screamers, hordes etc.
In A21 you could supposedly place more than one (3) to cover more POI territory, but I hear there's a bug where placing them too close together still deactivates the previously placed ones or something I have no idea if this is a universal glitch or not, nor if it could be avoided by placing them farther apart.
Edit: and yes you could mod it to cover larger area than default settings.

That's never been the case before, only bedrolls did that.
LCBs were basically pvp protection zones and to pick your stations back up.
Only bedrolls. But if you say so. Might have changed at some point.
But the issue I was talking about was from a post from SylenThunder. Placing them next to each other and then logging out or something.
