Breaking generators in POI to proceed

Why do I need to break these generators that are 10k HP each to progress/finish the POI?

Am I missing something? I dont see any buttons anywhere, and the exploding red barrels don't help.

I'm not playing alpha 21 but why do you have to break generators?

I have done missions up tp T6 level and none of them need to destroy gens.

You shouldn't have to destroy a generator ever. What exactly are you doing?

I encountered it the first time doing a T6 infestation clear of Red Mesa Compound, I cleared the entire POI and I had two yellow markers left on the map. I went to these areas and no zombies spawn. Turns out you needed to push the button on the locked door to make them spawn but there was no option to press it so I had to fail the quest. There were other reports regarding the same issue, turns out you can also break the buttons to make them spawn too, but they had 5000+ health.

Now, I just cleared the new Happy Sleep Motel POI (Tier 3) and at the rooftop, there's a flashlight pointing at a generator. I can't interact with it, but I decided to break it out of curiosity and after breaking it, 3 crows spawn from out of nowhere.

Is it intended? Or is it just bugged atm. I'm waiting for another Tier 3 clear quest from the trader to confirm it if happens again on the same POI.

i am also on T6 missions and have never seen a mision the require you to break the generators

start start them sure but those are night only and breaking them will not do anything then make you fail the mission.

So you are t6 capable but dont have an auger or steel pickaxe?

I think you might be missing something. As much as i like hitting buttons or keys to proceed through the dungeon, there are time when those keys and buttons are not obvious or they blend in too well with their surroundings

Either your game is bugged (that's my hunch) or you are missing the notice to use the "E" key to turn off the generator. Pressing that key once, the generator will sputter then continue to run. Pressing the key a second time will turn off the generator, but each press of the E key will take several seconds before it ends.

We did a server restart and tried a tier 6 Red Mesa again, the button was interact-able this time. Looks like I was just unlucky. Thanks guys
