don't bother looting dew collectors hoping for a filter.

I did some quick testing to confirm my assertions about the veryLow squared chance of finding a dew collector filter in the wild, here are the results:

methodology:
start new navezgane game default settings, give xp to level 72, set to day 100, loot all dew collectors (identified via kui tool https://kui.github.io/7dtd-map/ ):

I believe the way to get a filter is by savaging with a wrench not looting. And it is still a low drop rate.

I don't think you are correct, the only items listed in the xml as harvest/destroy are plastic/iron/pipes. I only saw the filter as part of the loot items.

No worries man. I am certain about few things. This ain't one of them. I did read from someone that said it was scavenged. I remember thinking it was someone in the know... but can't recall who.

You are correct. I just started a navezgane map and scavenged every point you listed, lots of pipe, and polymer.

Went back with new map and set my character to all points in lucky looter and second try at Navezgane jail pulled 2 filters.

It's a little disappointing that the filter is so rare because the collectors around the map are also exceptionally rare. I think the rate should be a little higher, maybe? I think I may have looted 1 out of 8 or so. They don't spawn in many POIs that I have visited.

It is an item worth 2k dukes so I can understand it not being common.

I can confirm i have been lucky on two new games (New for the exp updates) to loot a water filter from dew collectors on day one.

So with your insufficient sample size, you've decided that it wasn't worth it?

It's true that the chances are low, but with the direction TFP are going, Dew Collectors aren't meant to be your main source of water.

If you start to see them as a bonus, it's always worth it to loot and then scavenge the collectors.

Found both of mine in camping poi in two separate game plays, playing exp branch. Whether this is best poi to get a chance of getting one i am unsure has two other game plays i was same and got none but couldn`t find a camping poi.

I am impressed that cromwell2468 was able to find so many ruined collectors. Perhaps he can advise how to locate.

Honestly, at level 72, day 100, and late loot stage, just buy water filters from the trader at that point. Should have plenty of dukes or items to trade saved up.
