We need something early game to cure infection
Playing on survivalist is painful. One hit infects you most of the time. We need a medicine that we can cook in a pot that cures at least 1% infection. The honey from stumps doesn't drop often enough to depend on. Maybe add grapefruit trees or other fruits that fight infections. Or canned oranges you can loot. Anything is better than praying for antibiotics and honey from scarce stumps.

The honey isn't that bad.. I think it's the one thing perfectly balanced in this game. Just gotta look for the stumps and keep trying.. you gotta be way out in the wilderness you won't find stumps in cities / towns.

489 hours and you never got a honey from a stump? Or did you just never know they exist? Was expecting a new player with like 20 hours not almost 500 with this question.

Stumps aren't that hard to find if you prioritize them. I usually dedicate part of my first or second day to amassing a bit of wood and grab a few honey in the process.

Yep. Like above, early game you need wood. Prioritize stumps over trees. Build up the wood you need and eventually you'll get a few jars of honey. Start doing this before you get infected, just travelling from A to B. Prioritize stumps and eventually you won't need to.

Stumps and trader Jen for early game. In my first two A21 playthroughs I had 2+ honey in reserve on day 1. (Maybe Day 2 if you spawned 4km from the first trader, but then that just gives you more travel time to find for stumps.) There's definitely no need for more common cures.

And try not to charge right into every zombie you see on the way to the first trader. There's no need or point.

Having said that, I think it would be okay for the vanilla game to start players with a slightly better kit. Maybe 5 water, and 2 Honey when we wake up. This would help with some of the new player panicking and moaning, without having to make everything in the game 10x easier and more common.

You can get honey from any tree now, doesn't have to be a stump.

Going to pose this the same way you did.. Can't do basic reading comprehension?

Damnion said get honey from ANY tree, Not just stumps.

Lelo is asking for a source- Because in A20 and prior, You needed a specific Wasteland Treasures book to be able to get honey from regular trees, Not stumps.

Volume 1, "Adds a small chance to harvest honey from trees".

Might want to go back to the original quoted post, and read the posts again you replied to.

I think you misunderstood something rather early.

For jars of Honey, tree stumps and if/when you find Wastelands Treasures Vol. 1, from trees.

Yes indeed, after all death isn't much of an issue early game, especially if it's a planned one. You may have to die several times though, since I once encountered a bug where I was still starving once resurrected.

I usually see them as a quest reward fairly early and sometimes the traders carry honey. Between stumps, drops, traders and rewards, I don't usually have a problem with infection.
I don't hit up the drug store that often but that might be a pretty good place to grab some early honey/antibiotics.
