The gun behaves as a full-auto weapon with very high rate of fire. If you hold down the button, you fire both barrels in very quick succession. If you click very very quickly, you sometimes fire one barrel.
This would be solved by just making the gun behave like a semi-auto
Almost any amount of lag due to either network or performance-issues will make single-fire very unlikely.
Nope. Already tried that :(
<effect_group name="gunShotgunT1DoubleBarrel">
<passive_effect name="RoundsPerMinute" operation="base_set" value="1000" tags="perkBoomstick"/>
<passive_effect name="BurstRoundCount" operation="base_set" value="1" tags="perkBoomstick"/>
The rate of fire is nearly 3 times that of the AK47.
I can't find an obvious setting for handling auto/semi-auto in weapons though. They could possible be hidden in another file, being called by the trigger effects.
I'll try tweaking a bit
I did notice however that for me, holding down the mouse button makes any weapon continue firing. Has it always been this way, or is something bugging for me ?
If this is a bug, then this is the main issue. Not the shotgun
Something changed with input handling in alpha 21...
Using the 'Use Native Input Module' launcher setting seemed to make it better for me. It's still touchy, but able to one-shot consistently now.
Little bit of practice and i can now fire only one round at a time, consistently. You just need to click very quickly. The change in delay in the game files might work if it makes the delay longer. I hope this is changed in a future patch to make it easier for other players...
I think you're right - I think changing that setting was just placebo as I was more consciously thinking about it when testing it. Changed it back and you're right as long as you are super quick to click - it's consistent.
Made no difference to me.
I made a post on the bug report forums about the issue with all weapons behaving as full-auto
