Why does the double barreled shotgun fire both barrels at once now?
In A20 and as far back as I can remember, the double-barrel has always fired one barrel at a time, giving you two shots before having to reload. Now in A21, it seems you always fire off both barrels. This make it much less useful in my opinion since most of the time, firing off both barrels is overkill and as such, just wastes ammo and negates the main advantage it has over the pipe shotgun.

Why was this change done? I really wish to have it changed back to how it was before.

This is now included in the official list of known bugs

For me it's actually fluctuating, mostly it fires double, sometimes it does single shot if i try to click very quick only on the mouse button. Seems like a bug.

I hope its a bug, and it gets fixed asap, its annoying the ♥♥♥♥ out of me, randomly firing both barrels!

I haven't used shotguns in A21 yet.
But you could report as bug in the official forums, so they can see it.

New to the game and I wasn't aware there is no fire mode change. That would solve the problem both ways.

are you in a multiplayer world? if so I blame lag as in my solo games it functions as normal.

It does seem bugged -sometimes it shoots a single, but it's more than likely to shoot them both. It's touchy.

It's a shame programmers haven't figured out how to let you use shotguns both ways in video games up to this point.

Oh Well here's hoping for A.22 2025. Single barrel or double.

It's likely due to some sort of latency somewhere that triggers your clicks as a double click?
I play with locked frame rates and vsync on and such, so if you play with unlocked frame rates and the latency fluctuates (either online or from the game calculating or doing stuff in the background), your clicks might get doubled as if you are holding it down and the input is being multiplied.

If you wanna change fire rates or ways to add alt fire to the game, just add extra radial options in the ammo reloading menu when holding down R, so you can change fire rate or the function of your attacks...

Maybe add options to melee weapons with the radial too, so you can change different types of attack skills or stances?

For instance with a knife, you can hold R and choose a 'Normal' attacks which is default left and right click, but if you change it to a new 'Stance' which is unlocked via the skill for the mastery, you can use new animations for attacks that are superior but has higher stamina cost.

I just get both barrels all the time. In-game I use a side button instead of the left button and everything works ok, but I get the two barrels on the side-by-side everytime.

There is something about how the program processes mouse interactions. My left mouse button (on an older mouse) cant be used in the game because it seems to stutter. If I hold down the button then the game will process some clicks, then stop and I have to repress the button. This same left mouse button works perfectly on everything else including all other games.
The mouse needs replacing I guess but the game seems to handle the mouse differently than other games and any OS applications on my PC.

Seems to be a bug, the animation is not even matched up - it moves 'up' after quickly firing both barrels...
It is possible to fire one at a time, but you have to be really careful. It's broken when compared to the old double barrel, it seems

It's your mouse sending double the signal then, older and worn out buttons on the mouse will do that a ton, I remember a lot of cases in the past games my left click triggers too much or doesn't trigger at all due to the button presses worn the switch out.

I only started playing with A20 and did not notice this issue and I used double barrel A LOT. Now it happens to me all the time with A21.

Works fine for me in both single and multiplayer, but it is very sensitive.
