Vehicle damage
I've seen nobody talking about this change (I only checked the last 3 pages on this forum tho) but gotta say: I really hate It.

It's like they didn't think about us people with bad pc's. I have the dynamic mesh disabled and a low render distance, and after finally crafting the 4x4 I just found that everytime I use it I just can't avoid random stuff on the map. Like I'm driving on the desert and then a random rock appears out of nowhere. Fun thing is that I enabled the dynamic mesh and changed my render distance (the game runs fine for me, but I changed those because at cities my fps drop like crazy) and while It wasn't as bad as before, still you'll get hit by random stuff on the terrain every few seconds, so It's more of a luck thing.

Sometimes I even get my vehicle damaged by.... nothing. I was driving to one of my quests and for some reason It went from 80% to 60% because It wanted, there wasn't even something there. My theory Is that the terrain wasn't flat at all even if it looked like It was or maybe God himself joined my server to destroy my car so I would stop playing the game or something.

Maybe they will keep tweaking the damage in the future.

And carry always repair kits with you.

I think maybe a fix for this is that if it goes to 0% its still repairable even if not usable. I think it might disappear right now and that would be unfair to these kinds of things. I don't know because I repair mine if they are under 50%
Yes, hope they do something about it (pretty sure they won't because I haven't seen a lot of people talking about this). It's not hard to solve, you just have to carry some repair kits and maybe spend points on grease monkey. But it annoys me how unfair it feels, specially with lower render distances. But like I said, even on your regular render distance sometimes you have stuff appearing out of nowhere and your car getting hit by the floor.

Now that our vehicles are fragile...
I really think they should scrap the blood moon hypersonic murder birds. Driving now has some risk, so we shouldn't be punished for being in a vehicle on horde night!

In fact I think we should have mods like "improved soikes" for more damage, and "reinforced bumper" which reduces impact damage to the vehicle. Bring on carmaggedon!

The vulture thing was a misguided, fairly weak, and CERTAINLY non-holistic fix for people averting the blood moon.

If I build a 10x10x10 reinforced steel cube and stand on top of it for the whole night, am I not also avoiding the blood moon?

If I go to one of the giant factories and just stand on the roof for the whole duration of the blood moon, am I also not avoiding it? Nothing done about that either.

So - they are fine with you turning off the bloodmoon entirely, they are fine with you averting the blood moon by standing on top of giant POIs OR self-made reinforced structures. But driving around during one? NOW they've got problems with you amigo.

It was pretty dumb.

TFP has listened to your suggestions. Come 21.1 the following will be implemented:

Vultures no longer soar indefinitely. They now spawn randomly on top of the player and are now equipped with a "Zombie Bird Rocket System" that provides Air-to-ground missiles as well as 100% stealth detection.

Once the missiles are fired, Vultures will return to their Sanctuary (Coming A23) to recharge / reload.

Radiated Vultures (A22) will carry cluster bombs in addition to the aforementioned ZBRS. These cluster bombs can do damage to all structures, but are designed to prioritize any player - made structure, even if the player is currently not at said structure.

In A24, Radiated Feral Vultures will now possess Airlift capability. This means they can carry any Zombie (dependent on your game stage) and drop them inside your base. Again, you do not need to be present at said base for this to occur.

You're welcome.

It's funny how the 4x4 costs over 300 steel ingots, and yet has less hitpoints than a single steel block.

I wish they added mods to turn your vehicle into a viable weapon against zombies, like front bumper spikes, maybe attach some blades to the tires, etc.

I think it's funnier that we can melt down a bunch of scrap metal and a few other odds and ends and turn them into a jeep.

I'm actually happy with the vehicle changes, it never made sense to me that I could hit a wall at full speed and just bounce off, and I love that vehicles can do lethal damage to zombies now. And fully repairing a vehicle with a piece of iron and a bit of tape never made sense.

I just very strongly think we should be able to drive during hordes (not simply to bypass them) and the new damage mechanic makes it reasonable.

Traders always open mod. They are invincible, you can horde inside of them and it cuts a huge amount of grind from the game and headaches for server owners as no one needs to build massive horde bases that just lag the server anyway.

... Then just play on servers with blood moon disabled?
I never got this " lets hide/run away" from the horde.
Just turn them off. I dont like the blood moon gimmick and i play without and thats it.
Have played that way for nearly 600 hours.
Why trying to find new ways to circumvent a game mechanic if you can just play without it?

That's assuming one is trying to bypass the horde though, which isn't my goal. I only want to see the turbo homing tactical airstrike birds gone, so it's feasible to drive. (although I'm sure there are mods for that too...)

Thats fake news.

The devs already confirmed that the airlift system will mean that they steal either one block from the player base, be it generators, vehicles, weapon crates, and make them disappear from the game entirely.

It was also confirmed that the player themselves is thje highest priority target, so the player will be caught by them in their talons, then carried off and deleted permanently from their game world.

Alpha 25 will be the final release , replacing every zombie, animal, trader and other NPC with vultures, including the player character.
There wont be a inventory anymore but 22 dedicated "flap wings" and "let droppings fall" keys.

The game will also be renamed "7 Days a Vulture" and the genre changed to "vulture simulator".

I accidentally clipped a street sign with a truck and it took literally a third of its health after stopping it dead in its tracks as if I had just hit a massive boulder or something. :steamfacepalm:
