No water, no wrenches ? :(
Been playing this game for a decade but I can't figure out how to start a new game now. Can't find a waterfilter. Have to drink turdwater for a week looting 15 houses getting nowhere. How in the hell do you get a wrench and a waterfilter in this game....

I think it's in the loot table for destroyed dew collectors, but it's like a <1% chance.

Wrench is also still fairly random. Keep checking sinks and working stiff crates. Higher levels = better chances for that one usually.

either craft or loot the wrench from tool boxes, sinks, and tool boxes. for water, save the murky water you find in loot to boil at home and/or purchase water filters from the trader to craft dew collectors

Water filter is a reward for the final Tier 1 missions. Wrench you can just make.

Thanks for the replies and answers. I think the only way is to buy a filter to build a dew collector but i literally spend 7 days looting drinking garbagewaterjuice. You need so many magazines to build anything now !

Conclusion: hang about by the trader until you can afford at least 1 dew collector / waterfilter.

removing water jars was a mistake

If you are looting you should be finding murky water unless the RNG pixie really doesn't like you. You can buy a cooking pot for 600 dukes from traders if you haven't found one. Problem solved, I cannot understand what people are finding so difficult about water.

I started a new game yesterday. Before building a dew collector I had 42 murky water from looting low level POIs prior to hitting trader for first time. Sure I got lucky, but water is there if one looks and loots. Jars were/are not necessary, ever.

Totally agree.

The changes like the new interactive furniture, the new hitboxes on the doors and stuff are great but removing the water is not a good change. I'm standing in a pond and can't even use the water... ?
I averaged 15 bottles of murky water for 7 DAYS, looting houses day and night...
If you can't catch rain you can't even explore...

Edit: It's so messed up I have to start over in a new game...

Is there like a mod to bring back the jars ?????

not in the moment what i know.

But you find water everywhere... even in supplys which you can eat.

-> all kitchenparts and cupboards, backpacks, toilet and even in trash (if you get lucky)
-> best way is to clear a pair low level restaurants

15 bottles in 7 days??? it's pretty low if you play standart difficult... i play high difficult with normal loot settings and find more water 1 building as you in the complete week...

= maybe you should check if you do something wrong...

Yes there is. There are multiple mods which changes the water.

Check out SnowBee on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUVOyMJWOCc

You can find the mods from Nexusmods or 7daystodiemods.

Buy the water filter from a trader (point in barter for cheaper) and put a point in scavenging to get magazines faster and make a wrench. Easy.

Veterans complaining about empty jars just don't know how to play the game, just buy water or tea from machines and keep looting toilets plus sinks, you will get plenty of murky water.
Make sure to collect lots of chrysanthemum and just make red tea when you can (15% less water/food consumption for like 10 min).
If you have vitamins, you can use one and then you can drink all the pond water without getting sick.

People saying not being able to keep jars is not realistic, well, carrying 1000 tons of concrete in your bags is not to realistic either.
I love not to have to bother with jars and cans all the time.

They might have playing original A21 update, murky water was erased from loot tables and returned few patches later.
The problem with that being loot only - you would need hundred of of jars.. which ruslts in hundreds water collectors on every player base. Which results in formidable lags (also water collectors are buggy even in 1.)

And update: there is no water filter reward now in !.0 exp. Neither murky water as far as I can see.

EDIT: water is only loot now. And very rare. With 200% loot scouring every building in closest town to start in Navezgane it yelds 8-10 waters, which would be consumed within a day (it's still 20/100)

You can drink from environmental water, but only if you have empty hands.
