The other block i get but a dew collecter really ?
You shouldnt take the water, then it'll be fine :D
then it's useless
Yep. it is.... at least now.
Each dew collector will raise the activity 10% after it's been running for 5 hours (edit: game hours). Assuming you take the water out it will maintain that 10% activity. I had 5 collectors in my base. That's a base level of 50%. If you run a couple campfires because cooking takes so long now, and maybe a forge, a few torches, you're going to hit 100% pretty easily.
To be unfair, auto heat gen from something you need to survive is not a choice, as you need those to survive and craft important things- crafting glue requires you to light up a campfire or a chem station in addition to the water you collect. You're getting heat already from the crafting stations when you USE them to make glue, why get even more heat just from collecting water that you can't even choose to turn off. Yes, you could let them fill up and not collect the water, then why even use them in the first place. You could just buy water and drinks, but those store reset every 3 days, so you're going to run out.
This is not artificial difficulty, it is arbitrary difficulty. It is a pointless addition that should be removed.
If I want to raise my heat, I light up 9 campfires and wait for the hoard to attack- this is how I test my base. Now all I have to do is just turn on a leaky faucet.
Don't you know, TFP exploit mitigation team found a youtube vid where someone has 30 dew collectors and they just had to get the entire house on the issue. There is no way they would let anybody play the game in a way the did not envision!
Just wait until you try to drive your motorcycle around now, it turns like a semi and takes just as long to stop. With the massively increased damage from collisions it makes for a super fun experience.
It's getting old.
