Doors < two hatches
ok so hear me out, in place of a door here is what I do:
1. make a two block high doorway
2. put on hatch on the floor and top of the doorway with the hatch facing the outer wall.
That's it. but here is the thing, hatches only have slightly less HO than doors two gives you even more HP in the same zone as one door. if your using it for a horde base you can double up on this by placing ANOTHER set of hatches with the door facing the inner wall so you have a sealed off 2 by 1 zone.
it also have the advantage of repairing one door to full while keeping the other in place by flipping down one hatch and letting the other take the hits for a bit. typically from what I have seen if both hatches are shut zombies will attack the top one first. so you pretty much put TWO HP walls in front of the zombie in place of one

Isn't this what everyone does? A hatch is basically a door you can shoot through.

I just use doors like a normal person. I don't need a door I can shoot through, I just design my base so I don't ever need to shoot through that space. :winter2019happyyul:

the down side to this is while repairing the top hatch the bottom one is open and they will crawl through.

it's not required either way as horde bases tend to have a specific "fight window" which generally isn't the base entrance.

that never happens, you keep them both closed, then flip the top hatch up when its not doing so hot and let the bottom one take a beating for a second then flip it black close and fix the bottom.

I mean once you get up there on difficulty they will make it to the door if you don't build your base right...witch is why I build a separate base for horde night. but for day to day use it still comes in handed end game when you have a massive base that is central to everything. it takes them way longer to get into the doors when your off building or just afk while you way for night to cycle though to turn stuff into the traders
