I came back to A20 after a huge break. I stopped playing at A15 before so lots of changes for me to discover. Back then there were no quests and T5 buildings so when I first started A20 and when I was discovering this huge dishong tower on my first day I was amazed by it.
Note: I also didn´t know that the interior of buildings was now like dungeons with traps and ambushes ect
Sooo, I decided lets check this building out. On day one. With three lvl 1 blunderbusses and my trusty low level club. What could go wrong?
It was rough but amazing. I was really surprised how long it takes to clear this building but I took my time and proceeded room by room. At some point I discovered that the game now has falling traps. Broke my leg badly and had to rest inside in a corner of the elevator until it was healed up again. The vultures ambushes inside the building almost got me..almost..heavy wounded I had to rest for a long time again and I was infected. Luckily I found honey on my way so I could cure myself.
I didn´t give up though and I also didn´t die. Clubbed them all and had a great time.
Found lots of good stuff and leveled up so many levels it was amazing.
The top of the building was a surprise though. I didn´t expect so many zombies at the same time and also these weird green glowing zombies which btw look like ♥♥♥♥ were new to me as well.
Cheesed them by backracking into the building and spamming wood spikes in the doorways and paths and clubbed and shot the crap out of them. And won.
It took almost three ingame days to clear the building. I came out with a good pistol , a decent ak, a sawed of shotgun and a full inventory of ammo and stuff.
What an adventure! It was incredible to see how much the game has been improved in regards to buildings, although I think the devs overdid it and at times you feel like you walk through a guided zombie theme park with all those "intended" ways to clear POI´s with all those incredibly obvious ambush spots, which also enable you the cheese the heck out of it by just going your own way, but that is another topic.
So yea, you can do it early game but it´s a hell of a ride and well worth it if you don´t have anything yet but I can see how someone can easily shoot more ammo than he can find if he isn´t using melee much.
Even after this adventure I wasn´t aware that this is a supposed to be very challenging T5 building and part of quests. I just thought oh wow what an amazing building, lets check it out and so I did lol.
Long story short: You can do it even early game if you want. Just take your time.
That being said am I the only one that never gets the tier 5 apartment building/Shamway factory in RGW for A20? I've done like 15 RGW and none have those POIs.
You can camp out in a t5 for a lot of horde nights just removing a couple sets of stairs. Takes months in game for them to bring some of them down entirely.
I wish we could make physical piles of dukes for a treasure vault; like the gold coin piles in Valheim. Sometimes you just want to be a dragon and sleep on your hoard.
Same, It gave gold in Valheim an aesthetic purpose after getting everything from the store, would love to see similar with dukes.
Because so far I've seen only Fetch + Clear
It would take a tremendous amount of time to mine and smelt it traditional way, so yeah, it's definitely worth it
Even if it's a clear mission, sometimes those are easier to do sort of "backwards". You're breaking the funhouse planned assualt moments, where you're supposed to enter trough one door and get mobbed by enemies. Except you enter through the other and see zombies waiting for you (as opposed to them swarming you/dropping out of the ceiling, etc).
Plus you have the benefit of being able to _use_ the end dungeon loot to help you clear it. Especially if you found a good weapon or mod in the loot.
Only thing they're good for is speedrunning the POI reset on mission start and for the completion rewards. Otherwise, no, not worth at all. They take a long time to loot and often you already have better loot than the POI gives outside the loot crate area (unless doing the quest/trader rush strat). They're also not difficult outside of the final area unless you have a bow and arrow or a melee weapon.
The general quest rewards are also a joke, often getting worse items than zombie loot bag or something from a chest inside the poi, so re-running them is not ideal/wastes time.
EDIT: I see that apparently you dont even need to do tier 5 to complete chain. So no, not that part ig XD tier 4 is way faster.
