+1 for breathing gear (or sump pumps)
Wow, sound slike your uncle had a time of it. I'm not good in confined spaces. I also loved the old sloping caves best and loved that feeling of being under a confused night time horde, wondering where the hell the noise is coming from. I used to frame and door the cave entrance about 50 yards in (unlocked of course) to get a little privacy from Zeds. I even left a fair bit of gear down there in chests, so I could run back to base with my loot. Long before "Home" and "ZGate" stuff, when you had to actually sprint home at ten minutes to ten. Sigh. Golden days. lol
The best in a flooded cave is, that you can't fall down and the drowning is just a little problem which is easy to handle as mentioned above.
Atm the water is on ground level in my cave and I've built a little path down there. All the water is in the new "caves" I made from mining.
But when you're mining underwater the water will fill these holes and the game gets laggy as hell...
+1 for old fashioned and new scuba gears
Thumbs up for calling drowning "...a little problem...." Made me smile, thanks. And thanks also for the tips. Always appreciated.
I loved that feeling when you were in your mine and all the maniacal goings on of the surface were far behind.
I'm going to give your style a try, because the the caves I HAVE found (took ages too) I abandoned due to flooding. I suppose it can be worked to advantage. Thanks for your reply.
