Almost every time i've seen someone with this problem it was because Windows defender or another 3rd-party anti-virus \ firewall software was blocking it.
After reading the link above and making sure it's not being blocked by security software. Go into the 7DTD\EAC folder and run the EAC installer as an admin.
I should also note - If you're wanting to just play Single Player - you don't need EAC (and it's a waste of computer resources to use it) - you can just use the other launch option.
Does it work then?
also just read you need to restart your machine for the changes to take effect
because since the update some hours ago my SteamController does not work ingame anymore.... :(
I am as paranoid as any but I have done this just to identify the issue. Then you can restart it. Reboot etc. If you can identify the AV as the culprit at least you know what you have to deal with.
edit: I have even changed AV software to clear up an issue where suddenly things became incompatible after an update.
Even with top of the line Norton Anti-Virus? I know other people with the exact same AV and they do not have any such problem... I could try that but I do not believe the AV to be the problem because it works just fine for others.
All I say is boot up as normal. Get into steam. Then terminate your AV and see if you can get past the problem. It hurts nothing to try. Then restart your av and adjust your settings. But you cant fix the problem if you dont identify it.
edit: I too never had a problem.. until I did. Never figgured out the cause, just the cure. For my own situation.
No that did not help. I followed your instructions and even without Anit-Virus I continue to get the error message. I believe as the error message clearly indicates that the issue is related to the validation of the EasyAntiCheat code signing certificate. This leads me to believe that one or more of two options must be possible somehow: 1) Validating the existing code signing certificate or 2) replacing the existing code signing certificate with a code signing certificate that can in fact be validated. I also believe that surely I am not the only person that has encountered this issue... There has to be a fix or work around... Somebody please help me... Thanks
